Arrived here on a late Sunday and walked by the river passing,the farm,brand new tourist center where staff lady was very helpful, cabins and informative stands along the way.This forest is beautifully preserved!! One can receive free monthly magazine or events calendar in the email!...More

The Lake County Forest Preserves have beautiful bike and hiking trails throughout the County. My favorite is the DesPlaines River Trail that runs from the Wisconsin Border into Cook County. Great places for picnicking and family outings.

Love the Lake County Forest Preserves!!! We are so lucky to have so many beautiful, pristine, well maintained facilities in Lake County. My favorite is Old School Forest Preserve; probably because it is less utilized than most as it doesn't have as much to offer....More

I Volunteer at the Discovery Museum in Waconda that is a Lake County Preserve. The Museum is now closed and is in the process of moving to Winchester Road. Will open approx 4th quarter of 2017. Also the collections and archives will be housed there...More
