Attended mass at Holy Name Saturday evening the weekend of the Chicago marathon. The church offered a special blessing to all marathon runners and really made visitors feel welcome.

Loved the stunning architecture and it was a nice quiet spot to rest and enjoy the beauty after a busy day in the city. The staff were really courteous.

While in the city we went to a Saturday evening service there and got there early to walk around. The inside of this building is so detailed and ornate, that we were in awe! Everyone was very friendly as well. So glad that we stopped...More

AttendedSunday Mass. The Liturgy is formal, aesthetically pleasing, and engaging of the congregation, particularly in this large space. The music added to the worship service. The homilist was outstanding -- 'cream' for one is usually fed only "skim milk".

Such a great find in the heart of Chicago. We happened to walk past early one Sunday morning and entered to see the amazing architecture and that ceiling. Makes you want to weep. A must see in my book.

Gangster Hymie Weiss was shot dead in front of this Cathedral back in the day. The inside is beautiful and you are free to take a peak. Bathrooms are downstairs if you wanna take a leak while you peak.

The Gothic Architecture is beautiful and above the Sanctuary hangs the Red Hats of the deceased Cardinals. The Music is outstanding! The Liturgy is very prayerful...usually with a priest whose homilies touch your heart.

Quite a unique old church with much detail inside. The inside is really beautiful and definitely worth a visit. It's free to go in the church and mass takes places regularly.

Beautiful Catholic Church with a gorgeous ceiling - stunning woodwork all around. Visited on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:00 and were lucky to be there while the pipe organist was practicing. He played the National Anthem and it was unbelievable!
