We were in chicago and wanted to walk by Lake Michigan. It was very cold but we walked from Oak Beach to North Avenue Beach and almost had the path to ourselves. Would be also beautiful in warmer weather!

There has been a lot of snow during our stay but they managed to plow it off many trails. Great for walking! But pretty windy!

This is where you exercise outdoors in Chicago. Always filled with people particularly in the summer where you can enjoy the beach and lake. Totally worth it!

Cold but still fun is the Lakefront Trail in the winter time! Just be careful of bikers who share the path with you!

This bike path has so much going for it. A great lake on one side and world class architecture on the other. Enjoy it for pleasure, transport or exercise. I have ridden it countless times. The only downside is that there are those who dawdle...More

There is a bike rental concession located in Millenium Park right off of Randolph. It is about a block from the lakefront path. There are numerous places to rent the Divvy bikes, but they do not include helmets.
