It is wonderful to go along the Chicago Riverwalk. It is nice during summer and spring there. The riverwalk has been well maintained and there are eating joints to have bite during walk.

-17 but dressed warmly we braved the Riverwalk. It was deserted but all the better for it. Great view of the Chicago architecture and frozen river was enchanting.

On a whim, we walked the pathway near the river thru the city. Loved it. Almost hard to believe this is in such a huge downtown. Many food places on the riverwalk.

Chicago city planners have done it again. Riverwalk is amazing. Clean and safe, riverwalk bends and curves throughout downtown and its a great walk with a coffee in hand just soaking up the buildings and Chicago.

We took a long walk along the river, from the SkyDeck all the way to the Navy Pier. The center part was so beautiful, with panoramic views of the city. We had a clear day with bright blue skies, which reflected nicely on the buildings....More

Every place along both sides of the walk (most are on the south side of the river) have their charms. The main charm being on the river and watching and absorbing Chicago atmosphere. Good eats, great drink choices, or you actually don't have to spend...More

shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep

I do not believe so, but you could probably catch the water taxi. It would be a fun and unusual approach to Navy Pier!
