Good variety of high end shops but a large presence of homeless and people trying to sell you things on the street. Not a single cop in sight .

Lots of walking so wear your Fitbit to track your steps. The shopping district has brand name stores that are in historical buildings with rich history. It’s about the experience in the big city that makes it fun and the different architecture designs are beautiful.

Nice place to stroll and look at the higher end shops. Many other attractions close by including river cruises and Millennium Park. Lots to see and busy, even on a Sunday.

Michigan Avenue is quite lovely, and Chicago's skyscraper architecture is unique. The shopping, however, is decidedly generic suburban Americana. There are (almost?) no distinctive Chicago shopping experiences there.

Retail co-mingled with eating establishments makes this journey worth it! Easily accessible from every part of Chicago

Stayed in a hotel round the corner so visited the shops and restaurants along here everyday. Some Shops here are on the dearer side but there is State street that is also worth a visit!!

If this was to compare to the shops of New York 5th Ave then this is a big fail. The sidewalks are large so walking is easy but nothing here that is any better than the rest of Chicago. No reason to make a special...More

We were here as part of our Route 66 roadtrip. This is a very pleasant area of the city with good shopping and a relaxed atmosphere.

For years, I've been loving the walk from Randolph Street up to Oak Street Beach. This time I only got as far as "Big John", but love all the buildings and the sights. Worth a couple of hours, easily.

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

If I were you I would park it out in Rosemont or one of the outer lots and take the train into the city. Less hassle.
