During my visit on Presidents' Day, I enjoyed the excellent space exploration exhibit. Especially interesting was the recent wall related to the "Hidden Figures" story and movie. I noticed the additions of more hands-on activities for children of various ages. By the way, Illinois residents...More

We came late on a Saturday and were able to enjoy the planetarium for 2 hours- would have liked to get there earlier to enjoy an extra hour. They close at 4 so plan appropriately. The Flat screen Universe show was worth it and my...More

It was interesting to see all about our solar system and galaxy. Lots of things to see. The estimate of 4 - 6 hours to visit is about right depending on what shows you see. Parking is near by but costs $20.00 for the day.

With our tickets, we got 2 shows. The one about the 9 planet was good, the other put us both to sleep. Unfortunately, because we did the two shows it didn't allow us to see most of the planetarium. What we saw seemed cool.

First, the museum is very interesting for both, children and adults. A lot of information presented in an interesting way, interactive tools, movies, scale models etc. Second, the walk in front of it offers absolutely the best views of Chicago skyline.

We really liked our time here. The Ninth Planet was a great show to watch and the activity room was open for a lego build, which my son found absolutely fun. We loved trying to build our own rockets to test launch.

Lots of good information and neat artifacts from moon missions. The Welcome to the Universe movie was very interesting. We enjoyed it, but it’s probably just a 1.5-2 hr experience.

As part of our city pass, we decided to go see the Adler Planetarium. Very quick and easy to enter, you just show your city pass and they give you their tickets and you can walk straight through. Lots of information inside the museum, also...More

Went for Alder after dark. It was a great time there were no kids running around and they served alcohol. The exhibits were interesting and I saw a few different shows. Unfortunately it was raining so I wasn't able to look into the observatory.

Not a big cooler but they say bringing a “brown bag lunch” is permissible. It’s in the FAQ section on their website.

The place is big! To do each exhibit justice, it would take a while. If you're really interested in astronomy, you'll want to spend at least half a day. If you have only a passing interest, then a couple of hours is plenty... More

I don't remember being able to reserve shows online. You may not even need to. I just walked to the counter when I arrived, showed them my City Pass, and then they gave me a choice of shows and times I could go to. I... More
