Very cool aquarium with lots of diverse animals and cool exhibits. We saw animals we'd never seen or heard of before. I would definitely recommend the dolphin show which you need tickets for but can get them once you arrive on the lower level by...More

Took my two teens - 13 & 15. They both enjoyed the aquarium. They are at the age they would read the information on the animals. We did not care to see any of the shows - done that at previous visits to other aquariums....More

It was extremely crowded and disorganized. There was no flow among the exhibits. $40 per ticket is insanely overpriced and I expected a much better experience. Shows cost extra. I was embarrassed that I brought my out of town guest to this. It had been...More

Thank you for your feedback, Pam. As we are a non-profit, ticket sales help support our mission, so we appreciate every contribution. In addition, the Aquatic Presentation is included with all general-admission tickets.

Beautiful aquarium. The educational portion was well done. I found the descriptions alongside exhibits to be geared more toward the youngest patrons. I like the aquariums’ certifications and programs however I still see no need for any exhibits to be hands on. Example: touching sting...More

Took our grandchildren on a mini vacation to Chicago. Once we arrived at Union Station (9:20ish) we took a cab to our hotel & quickly made our way to the aquarium. So glad we did because by the time we left at 1:30 the line...More

I arrived 15 minutes before opening on a summer Saturday and was 20 people back from front of the line. Book online to get in faster. This will allow you to enjoy the aquarium before it gets crowded. I skipped the first dolphin show and...More

A large well presented collection. In contrast to many other aquariums, everything is well classified and easy to absorb; signage is excellent. That said it is quite crowded ( on a weekend), and tickets are a bit on the expensive side (it costs $130 for...More

Fun visit for all ages! Be sure to pet the stingrays. Such a unique experience. The animals seem to be well cared for.

Bought a ticket to see "Behind the scenes" and really enjoyed the adventure. We saw how they care for sick animals, how they plan for new exhibits, how they feed the various critters, how they continually test the water for salinity and all kinds of...More

South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of
activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you
happen to visit during football season, you may bump
into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears
game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the
flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and
educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and
aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park

I have not. There's so much to see with regular admission, I'd want to be sure you're not going to miss anything with a behind-the-scenes tour.

There is parking about 1 block south as well as credit card street parking, but that fills fast.

We have been there. I had chips and my husband I think a muffin. We did not feel sick afterwards. But with the kids they touch everything and put their fingers then into their face and mouth.
