I had been to the Art Institute years ago and guess I thought I didn't need to go back since I'd seen it before. Well, I was wrong! I recently went with my husband and a couple friends and had a great time. Of course, it takes days to see everything (if that's even possible). There is something for everyone... More

Great museum, specially the impressionists collection in the second floor. Everything is perfectly kept and very well explained. The location of the museum is also a great advantage. Is a good idea to stop by after going to the bean in Millennium Park.

It is an easy thing to spend the whole day in the Art Institute. The collection is truly magnificent and for only 19€ with the Student discount also absolute affordable! I loved it!

A little on the pricing side, especially when you compare to major European museum of even higher quality, but this seems to be the future...they are even taking a page from Disneyland by offering "fast passes" for a higher fee. The building is a jewel and its collection is world class. If you are an Impressionism junkie like me, this... More

On my birthday I try to take some personal time to be with art, alone. We are members and walk thru the crowds to get to the amazing special exhibits. But on my birthday I take a stroll thru most of the museum by myself. My heart & soul is filled with the wonder of this space. #1 art museum... More

We're members and go pretty regularly. Even then I could spend all day getting lost in their fabulous collection of works I hadn't seen before.

With over a million square feet of art space, this museum couldn't possibly disappoint, but the true breadth of its collections are fathomed through achy legs and a satiated curiosity for any art aficionado-- the pre-1900 American, 1600-1900 European and especially Dutch/Flemish works are plentiful. Many recognizable favorites by Caillebotte, Monet, Hopper, Degas, Seurat, Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Cezanne, Gauguin,... More

We decided to spend just a couple of hours in the museum. But that would be a shame, because there is so much to be seen. We are Dutch so we were proud to see a few van Goghs. Even his famous self portrait. But apart from this, it is amazing to see so much work from the Old World... More

I was very impressed with the overall depth and considerable quality of this museum's collection. I'm not a big fan of modern art, but this place has some of the best Picassos and Warhols et. al. I'm more impressed by the "Impressionists" and the Art Institute has plenty Monets and Dutch Masters to make you wish that you had more... More
