This is primarily a semi-precious gem and stone store, but it also has a fair amount of antiques stocked around the edges. The selection is huge, with both unfinished and finished stones, almost none of them set in any way, though there is plenty of finished jewelry on site too. The variety is astonishing, with moldavite rubbing elbows with amethyst and everything in between. Most is not inexpensive but there are less glorious articles such as carved semi-precious rock items and a corner of small tumbled rocks for a quarter each. The proprietor was unsmiling and rather dour at first but it’s just his way: when asked questions or addressed, he was as open and easy to deal with as you could hope. He even cracked a few dead-pan jokes before we’d left. The back corner curtain is not to be missed: it’s a display of UV light reactive stones, very fun.

This is near the "Center of the Universe." It specializes mostly in rocks, minerals, and related jewelry, but there are a few antiques and collectibles scattered about here and there, mostly in the back.
An excellent selection of rocks and minerals. Good variety, everything from the expensive, massive collector's pieces to the smaller, but just as nice things for an amateur's collection, or something to pick up for that kid that likes rocks.
So pricing is variable, but not overly high. If rocks and such are your thing, it is definitely worth a look.

My husband and I wandered into Johnson's gems and ended up spending a good hour chatting with the owners about the stones and gems they had in the store. They were so friendly! We would definitely recommend stopping her and we are going to come back soon! OH, and check out the star amethysts!

Worth a visit to browse old stuff. You don’t have to too old to remember some of the vintage items. Geodes, old jewelry, old currency and so many nick-nacks to peruse.

Fun to browse, lots of treasures and gems. Prices seem on the high side. The locally mined and the gems are interesting.

Definitely a must see store. Knowledgeable, friendly, and caring staff. Great suggestion selling as they really know their product. Plan enough time to stop here as it truly is a site to cherish, even if you don’t purchase anything, though it is easy to add up the purchase. Well priced items at all ranges.

Stopped by while touring historic Wallace. Interesting shop containing rocks and "precious stones" from around the world but what several of us including grandkids found appealing was the large collection of vintage sports cards--baseball, soccer, football and more. Could have browsed for hours remembering when a lot of these old stars of the courts and gridiron found their way into our homes and watering holes. A definite must stop in Wallace.
