This tour is overpriced. It is interesting to see what is probably the only bordello one can visit. However, they charge $15 a person, and the tour only took 35 minutes. Then you are free to wander around the rooms on your own, but you wouldn't stay there more than 40 minutes total.

This is very deceptive . Trip advisor says open. Oasis website says open . We get there during described business hours and sign in the window “Closed for the Season” How embarrassing to have driven from Spokane with wrong information from trip with our company from our of state.

Our guide Eva explained that after 100 years of operation, one day in 1988 the working girls and madame left for an FBI raid and never returned. They left everything behind -- skimpy lingerie, makeup, rate sheet, even their groceries. All contents were basically left intact until new owners made it into a museum. Eva showed us how clients were received, the rooms where the girls lived and worked, the madame's hermit abode and the system for collecting the money. My favorite artifact was the collection of egg timers, each with a girl's name on it, that stood by the cash box.

Shake up your idea of what a museum is... this place is preserving an important part of this region's history. It's worth stopping for and the downtown area of Wallace is a pretty decent stroll as well with some other fun stops as well.

Nothing here would be considered offensive or inappropriate. The stories shared by the guide really bring the place to life.

We saw this on a travel show and thought if we ever got out that way we would take a look. There is a small admission charge ($5) and there a tour that will take you upstairs to the bordello that ran until 1988 when the girls had to skedaddle after a tip of an upcoming FBI raid. It is maintained exactly like the girls left it in a hurry with cigarettes still in ashtrays and groceries on the counter. As I said it's a hoot!

My sister and I were in Northern Idaho and were surprised to see what must be a one of a kind museum. We were told that it was in operation until 1988 when the FBI came to town. Because the "girls" were warned that they may be raided they left in a hurry leaving everything behind and that is what you see in this house. This is a different place but definitely a part of history. Our guide was very good and probably told us more than normal as we were just two gals with open minds. Don't pay your $5 if you might be offended but a must if you are interested in something different and interesting.

This relatively small museum depicts the history of prostitution in Wallace, idaho in a tasteful, interesting, and intelligent manner. At this museum, you see the rooms the harlots lived in and used to service their clients. You also learn about the lives of the ladies who worked at the Oasis.

We stopped at the museum because it sounded interesting. I thought it would be maybe three rooms without many fact or details. Wrong! There were many rooms and we learned many things about the life of prostitutes and the town of Wallace. It was more interesting than I would have ever imagined. While It's not a subject for children, I highly recommend this tour for adults. Fascinating.

I didn't have any idea what I was getting myself in to visiting the last bordello in Wallace to service customers; but I'm happy to report it was well-worth the entrance fee. Back in the day, Wallace was a rowdy mining town and that spirit was kept alive at the Oasis...until a fateful night in 1988 when it was rumored that the Feds were going to raid the place. The Madam and the ladies high-tailed it outta' there, never to bee seen again. The house remained exactly like they left it and you get to be a peeping tourist into the living space and lives of the former residents. Interesting and seedy-cool.

I read a lot of reviews before I went and realized it was worthy of a stop. We enjoyed this museum very much. It was $5 and guided and just took about 20 minutes from start to finish. It isn't what you expect and you learn a lot about a side of life that few are familiar with. We consider it a highlight of a fantastic day of touring in Wallace ID. For $5 and 20 mins it is worth pulling in off the highway for.
