Wallace is a town full of history and character nestled in the foot hills of the mountains. Some interesting shops and bars line the streets. We were disappointed at the availability to get a nice meal on a Monday night, most of the establishments were closed. The Depot in Wallace has some amazing history about the railroads. I could stay in Wallace again and explore more!

We drove to Wallace ID from Montana for an afternoon. We had so much fun, starting with our photos at the Center of the Universe, then lunch at the Blackboard Cafe, the Sierra Silver Mine Tour and finishing up with drinks at Metals Bar. Every person in Wallace was friendly and talked to us about the very interesting town history.

Wallace, ID is a very friendly town! We visited during Gyro Days & Lead Creek Derby! Almost he whole town, plus others from around the area watch a large ball float down the river. Some people follow the path on bikes! All to raise money for scholarships. This town is interesting, so much history! I recommend exploring Wallace for yourself!

Was fun stopping on the drive from Spokane to West Glacier. It's one of the last major stops in Idaho before you cross into Montana. This use to be a busy mining town. They preserved so many of the store fronts and buildings that it's like walking back in time. Lots of gift shops, bars, and some restaurants. There are also a couple of museums. It's a nice stop if you need to stretch your legs, visit a historic town, or grab a bite and drink.

You can explore the entire town in about an hour. The entire town is on the historic register. I stayed here with a group to have easy access to the Hiawatha Bike Trail. There is some good food to be had and some cool bars. You can take your drink and walk around town.

Stayed in Wallace for a couple of days in a house on AirBnb. We did a couple of outings including the Zipline, Bordello museum, antique stores, and visited some pubs and breweries. All in all a very relaxing weekend. Wallace is a small mountain town that has preserved their history but also preserved small town hospitality that’s hard to find. Visit Blackboard Cafe for an excellent meal!

A nice place to visit and walk around, most of the places in town can be visited just by walking. Cool history on how the town was saved by diverting I-90 interstate. Some cool museums and shops. Need to spend a couple of days in the area.

If you are in the area, this is a worthwhile detour. This is a lovely small historic town with several good restaurants, breweries and wine bars. The old buildings are amazing. Really took me back to my childhood. Everything is walkable.

Fun town. We stayed at a historic inn and walked to dinner and all around the town. A lot of photo opportunities and of course you must see the Center of the Universe. Kids love the stairs that go up around the town and the interstate raised above the town is fun to walk under. Unfortunately the museum was closed or we would have stopped in there. Skiing just down the road at Lookout Pass.

Visited in the fall and the colors were spectacular. Small older silver mine town from the late 1800's. There is some nice downtown buildings/shops and there is a Silver Mine tour that is offered. There is a manhole cover that claims you're in the "center of the universe" at that point. Would definitely visit again and poke around some more.
