We certainly had a nice visit. This history was quite interesting although the signage for trail marking is an opportunity.

Very well maintained and kept up. It is not far from Cartersville and has good parking. It is quite a climb up to the star fort, but worth it when you get there.

Very disappointed this is part of the Ga State Park system. Trails not well marked, signage not updated, and other than memorial field (north/south commemoration markers), there is not much here-skip it!

"A needless effusion of blood," is the comment the Union General John Corse after the battle in which 1600 people were killed in one day. Visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and leave a coin to say "Hi." Check out the Deep Cut and...More

I've been here many times just to walk and sit by the river. Especially beautiful in the fall. There is a small memorial area to several units who fought here during the civil war that is also interesting. Nice place to bring visitors.

We missed a lot by not walking the full trail but what we did see was very interesting. The trail follows the original railroad grade along Lake Allatoona. The part of the trail we did get to do was wide and flat but I know...More

We enjoyed hiking the well maintained trails and the "cut" where the train track used to be was very interesting. We went up the levee side and came down out through the cut. My calves were pretty sore from the steep slopes, but it was...More

We visited here and there was a Battle reenactment going on. We were able to see a cannon being shot off and the soldiers in there "uniforms". It was a neat experience and brought history to life.
