17 of us had a life-changing experience on Safari. Stayed at Humala River Lodge, Dunkeld Estate and Seasons Sport and Spa. All meals were fabulous. Thabo was my favorite guide, Bastian was my favorite ranger. Blessing was my favorite barman. Go Touch Down planned every day to detail. The dollar was very affordable in SA. Thank you, and I plan to book your Catamaran tour in Croatia for 8 of us, what a blast!!

I concur with the previous comments. Go touchdown has refused to refund money paid for Africa trip that was not completed due to borders/airlines shutting down. I personally contacted the hotel in Victoria Falls and was advised that go touchdown canceled my reservation and has my money. Go touchdown only offered a voucher for Cape Town not Victoria falls and was told it was good for 1 year from the day of original travel. So I would have to travel to CapeTown in March 2021 for four days....really?!! I had a trip scheduled in June to Japan that was canceled and that travel agency refunded my money. I do know that several customers were joining in on a class action lawsuit prior to the refund. I strongly recommend we look into that avenue.

Dear Seetheworld143 The past few months were extremely difficult times in travel and for individuals for so many obvious reasons. Re our booked tours in 2020; we worked with every client and more than 500 have rebooked for 2021. Some airlines refunded monies and others have credit for future travel (their terms & conditions determine that). Re your post: I recognize this complaint and it can only be one of 5 people (all friends) that traveled in a group during March 2020 when the USA and Canadian governments ordered their citizens to return and SA borders were closing. Your entire group was told that if you cross the border to go to Vic Falls you may not be able to return. This was indeed a good thing we did, as it turns out that other companies had their clients stranded at their own cost. All of you opted to stay in SA and we booked you into the airport hotel and waited to see when and how we can get you out of SA. Everyone made it home safe and we got over 50 pax out of SA that week and nobody got stuck. We offered you a credit to use in South Africa for the 4 days that you lost in Cape Town. We did not have to, as travel insurance is suppose to cover trip interruptions. Four of the 5 people got a portion of their trip money refunded by their insurance and one did not - I am not sure if you are the one that did not (I must assume you did not?). It is my understanding that some insurance companies decided to enforce the "we don't cover epidemics" clauses, as so many claims came in. This could be why they declined you (speculating). We received emails from your group thanking us for the flowers and chocolates in the hotel, and then follow up letters to say we got home safely. We lost the flight money from JNB to Vic Falls (this is the airlines decision). Vic Falls lodge has offered a credit for future use should you want to return. Regarding our credit: Please note that we are prepared to offer you a credit for the Vic Falls lodge and the Cape Town 4 days you lost, to use on any future tour with us in Africa or Europe. this offer is open for 2021 and 2022. We wont get the money back from Vic Falls, but we are prepared to pay it forward. Reminder: Your agreement clearly states. No Refunds on the tour or for any portions that you did not use.. You need to buy trip insurance for financial security or trip cancellations. Plus Go Touch Down is not liable for epidemics, or custom restrictions. You signed and accepted these terms on your sales agreement. Your credit is safe. You can use it on any tour in future. CEO - for Go Touch Down Travel and Tours

Had the same experience as Urban H. Our trip was for Oct. 10th and is obviously not going to happen. Deon Bernard has refused to refund any monies for our trip and has been obnoxious to deal with. HE has gone as far as to say that they did not cancel the tour, South Africa did! He will not even honor the cancellation clause in the contract. All Go Touchdown cares about is getting your money upfront. After that customer service is non-existent . Do not use this company. There are plenty of reputable companies out there that have given refunds because of cancelled trips due to the pandemic.

Dear W forr59 I am sorry to read about this complaint. We had more than 500 tours booked from August to December 2020. More than 97% of the clients have rescheduled for 2021. Go Touch Down has not canceled your tour, nor have you lost your money. We pride ourselves on personal service, and our reviews are 4 and 5 stars. Our staff has taken your calls and written to you on every occasion with several options (more than 20 emails on the subject). In addition, I personally wrote to you and we addressed the terms, conditions, and solutions that were available. I persevered even when your tone escalated and you became hostile. We don't want you to be unhappy, but we feel that we have been very fair. Your complaint and statement is incorrect and is simply not the case. Go Touch Down has on several occasions confirmed in writing to you that a full credit without any penalties or change fees, has been applied towards a travel date of your choice as soon as the borders reopen. Or you can move your dates to 2021 or 2022. We recommended to you that you not cancel your agreement, as the sales document stated that no refund was due and that we are not liable for pandemics or custom regulations (you agreed to this in writing). In addition, we have provided you the option to transfer all your benefits to a third party should you wish. Furthermore, the USA and SA imposed travel restrictions (not just SA). In addition, we recommended that you contact your travel insurance company to discuss your policy. We have addressed this on numerous occasions direct with you. Contact Go Touch Down any time to reschedule your future travel when you are ready. We repeat; You have not lost your travel investment. Sincerely the CEO

Do not use this travel agency. Go Touch Down and Deon Barnard have used the COVID-19 crises to defraud us of all monies we spent with them for a trip to South Africa. They essentially contend that because our trip, which was scheduled to begin on May 12, 2020, could NOT happen because of the COVID-19 lockdown in South Africa, they should keep all of the $24,513 we had paid to them in December 2019. When pressed as why we were not to receive a full refund, or at a minimum that amount less the Sales Agreement’s specified 20% cancellation fee, Barnard replied, “get a lawyer.” We will shortly be bringing a civil action against Go Touch Down, Barnard and all associated entities. FYI: we received a full refund from Delta Airlines for the airfare purchased for this trip.

Dear 492UrbanH. Your review and statement is incorrect and is simply not the case. Go Touch Down has under no circumstances defrauded you or any client. In addition, we have provided you the option to transfer all your benefits to a third party should you wish. It is very unfortunate that you have attempted to leverage Covid-19 into an exit from contractual obligations. We have addressed this on numerous occasions direct with you and your attorney. Our statements, terms and conditions that you accepted are very clear regarding cancelation and refund policies. Please contact Go Touch Down any time to reschedule your future travel when you are ready. Sincerely;

My wife and I had a great week in South Africa with Go Touchdown Travel and Tours on their 7 Day Safari Tour staying at Dullstroom, Humala River Lodge and Seasons Sport and Spa. We saw animals in the wild on our multiple game drives, visited villages, went sightseeing, saw native shows, ate interesting and great food and generally relaxed all the while. We patted and fed an elephant at Elephant Whispers and nursed lion kittens at The Lion and Safari Park. Excellent coordination meant everything ran smoothly and we were well looked after at every point by human dynamo Bakkies and local guides. Even the “traffic jams” were enjoyable being caused by elephants and baboons. We highly recommend this tour.
