Beautiful wild tropical forest, great inter-coastal, calm and blue waters at the beach! Walking, kayaking, swimming, fishing...etc.. Wish they had more TABLES and picnic areas to sit, eat and enjoy the place (x).

What an experience. I've lived in Florida for about 30 years and never experienced a place like this. The ranger at gate entrance warned us about black tip sharks might be seen and said they would leave us alone. Wife and I walked about 5...More

Love this place! Was there a couple years ago and got great views of Brown Pelicans, fishing in the lagoon. There's a boardwalk all across the lagoon that's just perfect for photography. If you're patient and need assistance, there's a multiperson golf cart shuttle that...More

We went with friends on a windswept day with the surf crashing. The walk on the beach was most pleasant and the wind kept the bugs to a minimum.

Wife and I like to visit the park for a casual trail hike or just sitting on the beach. I have also caught pompano and snook from the shore

This little known state park is quiet and beautiful. Nice walking paths, and kayak rentals. Kayak tours are available

What a beautiful place to kayak, explore and spend the day at amazing almost untouched beach. We like to go early and bring breakfast, we kayak out to a little island in the middle of no where and hang out with our dog and have...More

Given temperatures in the mid-eighties, John MacArthur State Park has an abundance of visitors today. These folks are enjoying water sports, hiking, and picnicking. There is a nominal entrance fee.

We were there with the family that includes 3 teenagers during our Christmas vacation. We love nature and this park gave us just that. The kids went kayaking, then sunbathed at the beautiful beach. There are paths to take a strall. It is handicapped friendly....More

Ordinarily not enough surf unless you wait until Fall and some Nor'easters come crashing in. Fall and winter would be you best time and then it is catch as catch can.
