And can you walk - from Flagler Avenue, left to the jetty is maybe 2 miles, while to the right goes for more than five miles - that’s where I turned around and walked back. Cars can drive and park on the beach for $20. Here you can people watch, see surfers, talk to fishermen, ride bikes, or walk until you’re bone tired. Like I said, just the perfect beach.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 February 2023

The only thing we got stung by jelly fish. We cried a bit but still went into the water later. Kids loved it and vibes was great.Visited May 2022Written 15 March 2023

- Jake L4 contributionsOne of the cleanest beach towns I have ever been too in my lifeWe spent Thanksgiving 2023 here in New Smyrna Beach for the first time ever. What a great town it is. Everything was great. We did a fishing charter with a local captain by the name of Drew Cavanaugh and he had so many places for us to go here. We ate at the Garlic twice! Phenomenal place. The River Deck for our lunches. We did a manatee dolphin tour as well and just fantastic! The national seashore was so beautiful. We are back in July! We will be coming here from now on for our family holidays!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 December 2023

Paradise Cove @NSB - A Coastal Paradise Cove of Comfort and Style.
From the moment we arrived at this beautiful vacation home, we were enveloped in a sense of tranquility and comfort that only a well-thought-out newly remodeled space could provide. The property, a mere three-minute walk from New Smyrna Beach, is a gem nestled in your classic serene coastal neighborhood.
The home itself is a testament to tasteful remodeling. Every corner of the house has been touched with thoughtful design, blending modern aesthetics with a warm, inviting ambiance. The open floor plan, coupled with the abundant natural light, creates a spacious yet cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation and entertainment.
The kitchen, equipped with new state-of-the-art appliances, was a delight! The bedroom offered restful sleep after our beach adventures. Like the rest of the house, the bathroom was immaculate and updated with modern fixtures.
But what truly sets this home apart is its proximity to the beach and the cozy restaurants. The convenience of being able to leisurely stroll back and forth between the beach, Flagler Ave, and Atlantic Ave restaurants is unmatched.
Our temporary home added an extra layer of relaxation to our vacation, and the outside courtyard surrounded by palm trees was also a delightful surprise, a brand-new grill, and a cornhole game set were loads of fun.
This vacation home is more than just a place to stay. It's a beautifully remodeled sanctuary, a stone's throw away from the beach, where every detail has been considered for your comfort. We left feeling rejuvenated and with a suitcase full of beautiful memories. We can't wait to return and highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a cozy beach getaway.

This beach town is beautiful and the beach is nice BUT THIS BEACH IS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS BEACHES IN THE COUNTRY!!!! we spoke to the lifeguards because the water "wasn't quite right"...it was warm but no one was in the water so we were informed that there are always shark attacks (*very warm water). Needless to say we enjoyed the scenery and there was plenty to walk around and experience....JUST DONT GET IN THE WATER!!!

This review is for 27th Street Beach only - it does not reflect the conditions at any of the City’s other beach areas, such as Flagler Avenue. First, I was heartsick to see that the devastation from last year’s hurricanes has only gotten worse at this beach. The beach access stairs and ramps have been reduced to rubble. The lovely viewing area that led to the stairs is a crumbling shambles - blocked by chain link fence with warning signs. It is in far worse condition now than in the weeks just after the hurricanes. Mid way between high and low tide on a relatively calm day there was no beach area even if we could have gotten to it. We’ve been coming to this beach for over 40 years - we’re somewhat local living about 35 miles to the west - and were absolutely crushed to see the beach like this. The children’s playground, public restrooms and showers are still open and operational but the beach is just … gone.

Beautiful beach but why would you allow everyone’s stupid trucks to block the view? We paid $2 to park in the lot and now we have to see everyone else’s vehicles up and down the beach. Stupid, unsafe and unacceptable. Love the soft sand and waves. We will not be back.

The beach is awesome, some of the people not so much. Beach patrol on site. Saturday’s parking on the beach fills up quick, get there early.

We are coming in 2 weeks and heard there's tons of seaweed at cocoa beach. Can any tell me if it's better at new Smyrna? Thank you.

what activity is there to do within walking distance to the Salty Mermaid for ages 4-13?
Silverfalcon3
Statham, GA319 contributions
If it's where I think, it's clues to adult activities and live music. For the kids you are walking distance to the beach but it's a driving beach. Another reviewer mentioned Go Kart City but it's pretty run down and has been for years. New Smyrna Beach is shark bite capital of East Fla due to sharks feeding at mouth of inlet interacting with surfers but we still enjoy the water just not out with surfers at dusk.

I am new to the surf scene. I'm wondering if a beginner would be able to handle the conditions this time of year? I only ride a longboard, would this cause problems?

How far do you have to walk to swim? Do people swim there? None of the photos show swimmers.

You can walk up to your waist in the water before you can start swimming. There's no photos of swimmers because the swimmers didn't want to get their cameras wet.
How much does the beach cost?

Walking onto the beach is free - all 13 miles. However, driving your car onto those sections that allow ca s is $10
