So nice to see a trace of what used to be. A quiet little town off the beaten track. Only a couple of blocks from US441, well worth the stop. Lots of antique shops, an ice cream parlor, the old Thrasher museum, some really neat...More

Great find as we were touring the antique shops in Micanopy. Great pieces of Florida history but the two women working at the museum made the visit. You could tell they loved what they did. Definitely worth the time!

Fun stop to learn more about the local history. This areas history begins with Ferdinand de Soto. There is a lot more interesting than just that but I wouldn’t want to spoil your stop. Really an attractive 1 or 2 block main st also. Remember...More

Wonderful free museum depicting the world in Micanopy from founding to mid 20th century. Opportunity to touch the tools and implements used by settlers and towns folk during the early years of Micanopy. Also tells the story of how the indians were treated (mistreated) and...More
