What a fantastic park to visit. So many things to do and see. Make certain you go to both sides of the park because the north side and south side are so different. I'd go to the south side first since that is where the...More

One of the features of Florida that most of the visitors who fly in to Orlando miss is the huge number of State Parks that there are to visit. These give an excellent view of the natural Florida, not the man made. Paynes Prarie Reserve...More

This is the nicest state park we’ve seen in all of Florida. It has lots of hiking trails and magnificent views from the Visitor Center and observation towers. We saw a small herd of bison which are extremely rare in Florida.

Lots of wildlife viewing and scenic environs. Not overly friendly to some disabled travelers due to walking and stairs but still things to see. Bring mosquito repellent!

This is definitely a “must-see” if visiting the Gainesville/Micanopy area. It’s so beautiful here. We enjoyed watching the vegetation moving in the swampy water and catching sites of the wildlife.

We were there for only about 90mins because it started to rain but this is a truly beautiful park and we discovered several small alligators. Lovely place, a must-see!

I enjoy Florida history and the outdoors, and Payne's Prairie combines both. It is 90% outdoors and 10% history but what a rich history it is. The area was settled by the Spanish, Seminoles, United States and various cowboys, in addition to being visited by...More

You might be able to lunch your Kyayk by the boat ramp. Located on the South side of the park.
