About Quiescence Diving Services
Since 1977 Quiescence has concentrated on providing it's clientele with an un-crowded and personalized way to enjoy the sport of diving - both scuba diving and snorkeling. We have three boats here at Quiescence, and each operates with a maximum of six passengers to provide each customer with personalized attention, comfort, and safety. This also gives us the ability to take our divers out to spots not normally visited by divers. Our charters operate within the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary, John Pennekamp State Park, and beyond. Each dive location is selected first and foremost by the customer's wishes, supported by recommendations by the Captain as to local conditions.

Came down to Key Largo with a small group to do diving. Was sad to see that our usual dive shop had changed owners recently and was no longer doing full boat charters or allowing any input what-so-ever on where the boat was going. Got a recommendation to check out Quiescence and was blown away! Everything was beyond expectation. Experienced and knowledgeable Captains - check! Nitrox and nitrox training - check! Well maintained boats - check! Friendly and helpful staff - check! Dive shop with repairs - check! Decent parking with easy access to dock - check! Quiescence has quickly (and easily) become our first choice now. We had used the previous dive shop for over 10 years and through 3 ownership changes - we're hoping to do at least 10 with Quiescence. Shout out to Luke, Adam, Capt. Steve and Capt. Steve for the wonderful service!

Absolutely the best scuba operation. We have been diving with Quiescence for 30 years. We have been all over the globe, and no where have we found this level of service and knowledge consistently. Where to begin? First, they listen to you, try to meet your requests, and give you honest advise about the dive conditions and dive sites. For example, on this trip Captain Steve shared that Molasses reef had extensive damage due to hurricane Irma a few years ago and advised on other sites based on visibility, sea conditions, and likelihood of providing a fun dive experience. Second, their boats are all six packs. No diving with a herd. Third, their boats are set up extremely well for entry and exit. No slogging your tanks across the deck with fins on (as we were unbelievably advised to do with another Keys operation recently). If you want to giant stride, you sit on the back and put your fins on, they bring your tank to you. If you want to back roll, sit on the side, and they bring your tank to you. No forced mode of entry. Your choice. Their ladders for exit are fantastic. You get to the top with good, easy to reach hand holds, turn, sit, unclip your bc, and they lift your gear off of you. Other little details we enjoy are the covered tiki hut that provides shade if you arrive early for the boat, the rinse tank for gear on the dock, and the enclosed fresh water showers at the dock. We are experienced divers and I did my 10th, 50th, 100th, and well over 500th dive with Quiescence. As long as we can dive, we will continue to stop here when in the Keys.

A small group of friends had chartered a boat for 2 afternoons with Quiescence & these folks really know the waters & the reefs. On the way out on the 1st afternoon we ran into a squall line. No Problem. The captain changed course to a more northerly heading & in no time we were in sunny skies & flat seas. That day we dove on Elbow Reef (included remains of the Acorn) & the Wreck of the Hannibal. The next day there was a strong north wind & the seas were building much like in the winter. Captain suggested diving the inner reef system, we agreed & he brought us to Double Double North Reef & Horseshoe Reef. Great dives & flat seas. Also, no problem that were a little late getting back on board because we came on on the wrong anchor ball. As for the experience in our little group, 3 of us have been diving for over 20 years with hundreds of logged dives & Quiescence really impressed us. Thanks for a great 2 days of diving.

Canceling a trip due to sea conditions is not easy, but we’re sure glad they did. With seas reaching 5-6ft it would have been a pretty uncomfortable trip. The day prior, the crew kept us informed about the conditions and possibility of canceling the trip. With out over selling them, they did offer some alternative options. We ended up not taking them up on those options but it was good to know what our options were. Great communication, good decision. As the saying goes, it is better to be on the dock wishing you could be on the water, then on the water wishing you could be on the dock! We’ll go out with them another day.

This is a top notch dive charter! We booked with short notice for the lionfish derby tournament. Captain Lad and Luke were unbelievable! My son is a fairly new diver, and Luke was very attentive. It was comforting to know he was there. The boats are roomy and handled the 4 ft seas well. Easy to dive from and we never felt rushed. They took us to their best spots and we ended up WINNING the tournament with the most lionfish! The crew seemed more like our friends than a dive boat crew and they were so accommodating. I can't say enough positive things about this dive outfit. I can say truthfully that Quiescence will be my first call when I booking all my coming Keys dive trips. Thank Guys!
