Unsanitary
Jul 2021
Pier itself was nice but it was a bit unsanitary. Dead fish guts, pieces of bait lying around and truly just not even close to any kind of clean. The bathroom was even worse it reeked of urine and was completely unsanitary and filthy. I don’t expect a pier to be what is considered clean given the circumstances but a good pressuring washing it down often so that it’s sanitary and maintaining clean bathrooms is minimal.

Hello, Bathrooms are cleaned hourly, and the restrooms at the end are cleaned at shift changed, as well as pressure washed out nightly. We pressure wash up to half the pier every night, however with the crowds we are seeing its dirty again by 9am. This has been an unprecedented year with crowds never before seen and of course like everyone we are plagued by the staffing situation. We are doing our best. Cleanliness is the best it can be for a pier with over a thousand+ visitors a day. But we will definitely bring it up to our staff. Thank you for the input and we will see you next time!

We all caught fish!
Jul 2021 • Family
Beautiful and clean pier. Not expensive at all. I’ve been to many piers to fish and several charge per pole. One fee to fish was nice. Everyone was friendly to us and we all caught several ramora. We saw sharks, dolphins, and sea turtles. One young man hooked a tarpon and another landed a long mackerel. We would visit this pier again.

The savages locals
Jul 2021 • Family
Beware of the rude locals. These beach towns thrive from tourists, but locals are rude AF. Don't dare to ask them any questions, they will bash on tourists like they don't need our money. They act like savages, Invading personal space so that people will move away. Even threaten to get tourists kick off the pier if they don't move, making calls to the people that work the pier, crying about tourist taking their spot on the pier, like they own the pier. Smh, I guess they must have some personal connection. If their fishing line crosses your line, although you was there first, it's your fault and they will demand monetary return. We Personally witnessed a grownass local man threaten a woman because his line crossed her, and her fishing pole accidentally tipped his glasses off into the ocean. What kind of man does this know? Such an embarassnent to society!!! I know this is not all locals, but whoever these locals are, shame on them and their parents for the bad upbringing.

Dolphins at the Pier
Jul 2021 • Family
Why would anyone spend $40+ per person for a dolphin cruise when you can pay $2 per person and see a dolphin family from the Pier every evening, along with many other types of marine life!!!!

What an Experience!
Jun 2021 • Friends
This was such an awesome experience! We were able to see the coast and a lot of wildlife in their natural habitat! We saw dolphins, sharks, and sea turtles. We were so excited about seeing all the wildlife, we stood on the pier for almost two hours. I highly suggest this to anyone visiting the area, such beautiful views!

Pretty Pier
Mar 2021
We pretty much can't pass up a pier, so, of course we walked out on it. The view was lovely and watching the fishermen is always a pleasure.

1/4 mile long
May 2021
It cost $2 to go onto the pier and is worth every penny. You can also pay to fish, rent poles, get bait, etc. There were lots of fishermen which was fun to watch and families just enjoying the day.

It was ok
Apr 2021 • Couples
Took a walk out on the pier. A lot of people were fishing. Saw some interesting attire, or lack thereof. At least we saw some birds and dolphins, which was cool.

What a fun day
Apr 2021 • Family
Loved this place...I could just hang here all day. Beautiful views, and although we had no luck fishing it was still a fun venture. I would go back here many times over.

Okaloosa doesn't want you here.
Apr 2021
Unfriendly people. Locals think they own the pier. My 14 year old son was fishing a Spinfisher 4000 reel and a Berkley Tec Cat rod. Light gear for even a King Mackerel. He put part of a cigar minnow under a floater with an 18 inch mono leader and a shark took it. This shark had been swimming around and stealing peoples catches for some time. It happened that my son hooked it. The pier attendant rushed out in his golf cart, accused him of shark fishing against the law and called him an ugly name. It's bad when a 14 year old with autism cannot fish on a pier without fear. He isn't capable of fishing the methods of some of the others casting an artificial bait over and over. Avoid Okaloosa Island Pier and Okaloosa County. I came down to look for a house for retirement. I'm looking elsewhere.

Let's Recall the event.... Signs are posted NO SHARK FISHING, You were instructed by Staff, And Local fishermen to not target sharks! The Angler Admitted to trying to catch a shark!!! So your son himself Admitted to staff, he was here to target sharks. And multiple of your rods, you multiple 3 foot wire leaders with very large JHooks, that are actually illegal to shark fish with anyways, and this can also be confirmed by cameras and multiple witnesses. Completely ignoring and disrespecting the policies that coincide with county ordinance that does not allow shark fishing on county property. Staff never used any profane or derogatory language, there are dozens of witnesses as well as cameras that can confirm this. all that was said was POP IT OFF or Leave for the day. Staff is authorized to remove any patron or guest that disobeys rules and policies that are set forth by the county and the business itself. Everyone is treated with the upmost respect.... Once you identified it was a shark, the fish should of been immediately released by popping the line. The Angler was instructed multiple times to do so, and ignored.... Everyone has to play by the rules, we are sorry you don't agree with them! You told our staff you were targeting Mackerel but the angler said he was targeting the shark.... Rules are Rules, and if people cannot abide by them we encourage you to fish somewhere else. Perhaps if you would like to catch sharks from the beach, get the proper licensing for shore based shark fishing, and head out to the beaches that are not county owned.
