A student-led tour of the home provided excellent information about Mary McLeod Bethune, the history of the university and historical facts about the relationship between Dr. Bethune and well-known philanthropists, educators, businessmen/women, and civil servants.

Visiting the home of Mary Bethune was an excellent educational experience. The students hosting the tours were well versed in the history of Bethune and her legacy. My family and I really enjoyed seeing the home and learning it’s history.

We called ahead to make sure a tour was available. The tour took about 45 minutes. We took our time & asked questions. FYI ~ you are not permitted to take pictures in the house.

There is no fee to tour the house. We did not have a reservation when we toured the house. Perhaps we were just lucky and it was open for tours.
