If you are staying in Clearwater Beach, don’t rent a car. Take a ride share from the airport…..$30-50 depending on number of people and take the Jolly Trolly everywhere around the CB loop to downtown. Go online to view the routes and very reasonable rates.

We used the trolley numerous times during our stay at Sand Key. Stops are numerous so it is easy to get on and off. Gulf Blvd. can be congested and there was construction going on so to drive was stressful. Taking the trolley allowed my husband to take a relaxing ride, taking in all the sights. Currently it is free to ride. I highly recommend the Suncoast Beach Trolley.

...see the beach, many stops so you don't have to walk far, tour the city/beach, even in traffic better than in your car. It is fun too.

Took advantage of this complementary service to explore the coastal towns of Pinellas County. The trolley service is especially nice for vacationers but is also an essential service to locals in reaching their work destination. While this service has a planned schedule, realize that the arrival of Trolleys are not always on time. Setting this expectation may make the use of this service less stressful.

We got on trolley in Madeira Beach and rode all the way into Frenchie's restaurant in Clearwater on Rockaway bay. I was very hesitant to ride trolley as we usually drive, however, was pleasantly surprised. The stops for off and on passengers was quick. It ended up being a very convenient way to travel. All drivers were very helpful. I definitely recommend the trolley.

They run every half hour up and down the beach road. It was great for catching at night as they run until about 10.00. They are reasonably prices especially if you are a pensioner as there is a redunction. You can get day passes or just pay as you go. You must have the correct fayre. As it is a long distance from one place to another, it was ideal to go out at night and catch one to one of the restaurants. The only fault was we waited 30 mins for one and it drove straight past us.

For a $5 day pass you can cruise the coast. The drivers are friendly and helpful. This is especially useful as parking In Clearwater is difficult and expensive.. many hotels charge additional for parking.

This bus system goes all the way from Fort De Soto to Clearwater. Daily pass is $5, buy it when you get on. One ride is $2.25 and you have to have correct change for either. There a couple of hubs to change buses depending on where you want to go and the drivers are super about making sure you get to the right place! Saved us a ton by not having to rent a car. They run every 20-30 minutes depending on location.
