Mystic/Stonington, CT is a beautiful area with lots of family friendly fun. The river and beaches are scenic and the sunsets are gorgeous!

During our stay at Mystic, we visited the pretty town of Stonington, situated on the mile long peninsula into Fisher's Island Sound. Dubois beach is at the end of the point opposite the Stonington Lighthouse Museum. It is a sandy inlet, very small and quiet. Access is via pre purchased passes @ $10 per day. There is a public car park and 'portaloo' toilet. Lifeguards are on duty through the day. It provides good views both in the daytime and evening for sunsets. Unfortunately the inlet does accumulate seaweed which requires regular removal.

Not a beach I’d personally swim at, as the terrain is pretty rocky, but it’s a very beautiful beach. The beach has lots of large rocks and small rocks making it a perfect place for pictures. I visited when it was raining, and there was a haze over the beach that just made it look so mysterious. I really loved how pretty the small beach was.

Just before leaving the area for the day, we stumbled upon this cozy and serene beach. The picturesque sunset was a great view before going back home.

This is a pretty small and quiet beach, but it fit the vibes of Stonington perfectly. The water is really cold, which is saying something because we are used to Colorado mountain lakes. We had a stunningly warm and calm day.

I wanted to do something special for my birthday, something a little different than other years. So we visited Dubois Beach ( Stonington Point) and watched the sun go down. It was picturesque, it was very warm for a late Autumn afternoon and just splendid. We picked up some takeout burgers ate in the car and walked around afterwards and took in the breath taking view.

We found the beach very clean, the water clean early in the morning, then lots of weeds. There are rocks and weeds everywhere in the water, so not great for swimming, but perfect for spending a few hours by the sea.

Dubois is a small sandy beach at the point in Stonington Boro. It is life-guarded during normal hours and there is a fee for admission. It is very convenient for residents but a bit of a drive for others. There are portable toilets but no concessions of any kind. There is a small pavillion for shade but no natural shade. Nice spot for sunset viewing.

We went in mid-September in the evening. The beach is small, but at this time of day/year parking was easy and there weren't many people there. The waves were gentle and everyone enjoyed the area. The beach was clean and the view is stunning. Take a walk around the town while you are there, so much history and interesting architecture.

We visited this beach at sunset, which was a remarkable time to go. It wasn't too crowded, the breeze was perfect, and the view was spectacular. If you're looking for somewhere with soft clean sand in a quaint community, this is it. Apparently you have to pay to access this beach, but there was no one on duty when we arrived. This may have been due to our timing (sunset) or the time of year (early September). If you were to spend the day here, come prepared with a picnic as there are no ammenities (not even a bathroom or trash can). But, there are a ton of shops and eateries on the nearby Water Street.
