The road into Lake City goes over this pass and the views are breathtaking!! The road is well maintained and well worth the drive. The beetle kill has been cleaned up and the area is so peaceful.

Started out on a very unique bridge crossing the most beautiful body of water, then went through many different environments. A very scenic and varied drive.

We took Hwy 149 from Lake City to South Fork while staying in Lake City. It is a beautiful drive with several places to visit on the way. We saw deer, moose and several other animals. It has beautiful views of the mountains and lakes.

Typically good road with very few areas where you might find any wash-boarded spots. Really saves time as you go between these areas -- well worth taking, find for a car -- 4 wheel drive not needed at all!
