The well maintained chateau gives a unique view into the human geography of Mauritius. This is worth a one hour visit and the restaurant is a rewarding finish. The food is excellent and wait staff were friendly. Skip the rhum tasting. Mediocre at best and...More

At first sight the colonial chateau is splendid. The laneway leading towards the estate impressive and it certainly gives the feel of a grandeur era gone past. Inside, that feeling of splendour soon evaporates. Although great care has been taken to restore the house to...More

I love beautiful architecture, the architectural finishes in the Chateau are truly priceless and authentic, the real-deal the Carrara marble and the Spanish Rojjo Alicante marble on the wrap-around veranda as well as the interior furniture and fittings would make any interior designer drool. The house looks as if the former owners were to appear there in a moment. Nicely restored and maintained, with lots of souvenirs from the era and the history of the family that lived here. For me, an obligatory point.

It’s like discovering an oasis amongst the sugar cane fields. At the end of the pebbled path stands this grandiose, beautifully restored chateau. It’s truly breathtaking!
