First things first, Clovelly beach is no Camp's Bay, it's small and lacks the vendors and amenities of Cape Town's busier beaches (such as Fish Hoek beach which is next door) but that's one of the best things about it. I actually found this beach by accident, on a busy Sunday, the traffic was tailing back from Fish Hoek so I decided to park in some recently painted parking lines on the side of the main road. From here I strolled down the main road, crossed the train track (there's a path) and found a beautiful, quiet and clean beach area. From this beach you can easily walk over to Fish Hoek for a variety of food and drink options but if you, like me, prefer a quieter beach, free of litter and noise then Clovelly is for you. Bear in mind however that no lifeguards are present and as always, the sea currents around Cape Town are always strong and unpredictable so take care...
