Fantastic setting. Great food and wine selection. Sometimes music.

Beautiful property. Huge and well maintained. Great place to stretch out your legs. Family owned and operated. If you are looking for intimate setting this might not be it. Fantastic for dinner groups of any size though. Everyone is happy and is a nice setting to relax. They have events for the public. Family friendly.

Amazing, Fantastic, Picturesque, Wonderful MOST Memorable Experience yet!
Jun 2018 • Couples
My girlfriend bought the groupon & brought me here as a birthday gift. I'd never been horseback riding and always wanted to. The horses aren't huge and intimidating, but they also aren't tiny where you feel stupid. The horses are perfect! Beautiful! Furthermore the route throughout the vineyard is picturesque. I don't understand how anyone could rate the experience anything but a FIVE STAR. Our guide Chelsea was amazing and made sure we were safe, had fun, and enjoyed a fantastic and most memorable experience. She took pictures of our group and individual pictures as well free of charge. I highly recommend this and our guide Chelsea. Lastly I highly recommend visiting the Avensole Winery and visiting the downtown area.

Careful of Groupon Deals with Them
Nov 2017 • Couples
I purchased a coupon using Groupon and then found that they limit the spots for Groupon and are booked out months in advance. Wine Country Trails told me that I could use the coupon and pay the difference which was disappointing but doable.

I then tried to pay the difference and she said that my Groupon (which I paid $150 for) would only be worth a $75 trade in and I'd still have to pay the difference - basically losing money on my end. It was incredibly frustrating with horrible customer service.

We were really looking forward to this, so please learn from my mistake and be cautious with Groupon and possibly this company. It looks like they're doing a bait and switch.

Also note that it looks like they will not offer refunds, only rescheduling if they have to cancel due to weather - that might be bad for some who are only in the area for a short time.

So many wineries.
Aug 2017 • Solo
What a great surprise to find so many wineries nearby. High-quality too! There are a number of tours available or you can just strike out on your own. It is a less traveled winery area than Napa Valley and perhaps a little more romantic as a result.

Fantastic Experience
Jun 2017 • Couples
We had SO MUCH FUN!! The owner and her daughters were super sweet. You can tell they love their horses and want their customers to have an enjoyable experience. The trails we were taken on had incredible views. It was a nice easy ride so you can take in the scenery. Afterwards we went to a winery where we were greeted with enthusiasm.
We will be back!!!

Such a wonderful experience

This was our first time ever on horses. We had a mix up with another company and I had to book this a day before which is usually not possible with horseback riding in this area. Ironically, it was also one of the most inexpensive companies. I must say that the gal who helped me book it was so nice and easy to talk to. She gave us perfect directions and there were no hangups getting there or onto the horses.

They gave a quick lesson and introduced us to our guide who was also remarkably nice. She did such a great job giving us the tour. The length of the ride was perfect, not too long and not too short. We went all around the vineyards, past the winery owner's home (which was also beautiful).

The horses were super easy to control and we had no issues. My wife was so happy and I got bonus points since it was a surprise!

Afterwards we went to the Wilson Winery (next door) for a small wine tasting. It was a perfect day! I highly recommend not only this activity but this company. If we ever do this again, it will be at Wilson.

It's a ride - that's it!
Jun 2015 • Friends
We chose the 11:00 am ride. Not a smart choice as it was HOT.
Check-in is disorganized and chaotic. The trailer is messy and hot and you will be asked to complete 2 forms and disclose insurance coverage.
This adventure is simply a horseback ride around the vineyards.
The guides are sweet and nice but do not expect to learn much about about wines, or the vineyards, nor the history of the winery. You do get wine tasting tickets with the purchase of the ride, but don't forget to ask for them or you won't receive them.
The poor horses were tired and hot and we felt bad for them. They simply walk along the path dragging their hooves. My horse, Abby, was love sick and refused to go anywhere except behind her boy horse, Curly. And when I say behind, it means she wasn't going anywhere except smell Curly's bee-hind. That was probably one of the more memorable events of that hot and dusty afternoon.

We wanted to do the wine country horseback riding but it was our last day and we ran out of time. what I can say is that we went to the location were you would start your ride from (Wilson Creek) we stopped and saw the horses as they were loading them up for the day. We noticed that the horses were all well feed, clean and well cared for and had proper equipment ! We will most definitely try this our next visit there.

Had a great day. Great wine tasting and a lunch!
Was a bit nervous going solo but it was a spectacular spring day. My horse was clean and healthy which is something lacking at some other vacation horse tours I've been on. This one I did was basically riding at a slow pace w a group. The guide was experienced. I don't think horse tours are the place to learn to ride. Get familiar with riding before doing group tours. I've seen newbies make the horses nervous. My ride was wonderful however and I had wine and lunch in the fabulous winery restaurant next door. There are some amazingly tasty and reasonably priced tastings in the area. Have fun!!!

Great for beginners
May 2014
If you have never (or it's been years)ridden a horse than this is a great activity for you....the horse's are amiable in general & they mostly walk the whole time-there is a guide up front & behind to ensure things keep moving & you don't have any problems...the scenery is lovely & they have someone taking professional photos of you at different points along the way which you can purchase at the end....don't think you would enjoy if you are an actual rider because it's very sedate...but for novices it's perfect! (Follow it up with some yummy wine tasting at the winery too!)
