Apart from College kids, most locals avoid this like the plague, since it has only a few stands of Fresh Farm produce. Most of the offerings are the local restaurants loudly proclaiming their BBQ or other offerings. Yes, it is popular with tourists, but most...More

Fun nightlife and good food! It was very hard to find parking though! Vendors vegetables looked very fresh, but they were a bit pricey!

SLO's farmer's market covers a good deal of Higuera Street (it's main thoroughfare in downtown) every Thursday evening. It attracts a wide-range of people: students from nearby Cal Poly and Cuesta College, locals, and tourists. The vendors offering fresh fruits and vegetables are still there,...More

If you are in town on a Thursday night it is a must do. The guy at the hotel we stayed at recommended it, so we had a wander down and were very surprised. The market is really big and runs over 3-4 blocks downtown....More

Regrettably, we only had about an hour to explore the farmer's market, but enjoyed our brief visit. Word to the wise - get there early, or be prepared to park FAR away (we couldn't find on-street parking within a mile). Would have loved to sample...More

So glad we followed the recommendation of colleague and other reviewers. Great vibe with all generations attending. The Cal Poly students add to the vibe with their presence and music. Several options for Awesome tri-tip sandwiches. Lots of fresh produce...too bad we were only in...More

It closes off several blocks of Higuera, including a couple of side streets. Plenty of food, music, wares and produce too. It can be very crowded, especially when Cal Poly is in session.

Fall has come to the farmers market. I got delicious heirloom tomatoes in every color. Pumpkins, gourds, mums and colorful corn are abundant. Check it out. Don't miss Gardens of Babylon nursery, garden center and gifts. It's one of my all time favorite Garden ships.

Thursday 6pm to 9pm. It's extremely popular, finding parking can be tough, better idea is to walk or use the trolley (50 cents per person)

We always stay at the Apple Farm. Approx. 15 minute walk, but there is also local transportation right along the street to take you to the market.
