This is a great place! We went here for a day trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the animals. At the time of our visit, they had an Emu, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, a sheep, horses, llama, Alpaca, llampacas, chickens, and a rooster. The main entrance, I believe, is under construction so use the Los Rios St. entrance, its right next to the Coffee shop. You can feed the animals a container of fresh vegetables for $6, its great. You can even go in the goat/sheep enclosure. Children can ride the horses, the horses are guided/held by the employee for safety. On the other side of the ranch is a play area for kids. They have a mini train ride, mini tractor ride for toddlers, jungle gym setup, and a crane machine just to name a few. We will definitely come back, there's lots to do and see for every family member.

Don't go here if you believe COVID-19 is real. Crowding, staff with masks below their nose, at least 10% of the patrons not masking. We had to leave before we could even use all the services we paid for because it was so dangerous. I should have looked closer at the pictures and reviews - you can see their pervasive pattern of not masking or distancing from what folks post.

My 6 year old grand daughter loves this place. Be sure to check out the entire place, not just the petting zoo part.

Located in the Los Rios Historic district. Place to take the family to see horses, emus, guinea pigs and more. Also features a small train and lots of hay bales.

Pre-kids, I had passed by Zoomars Petting Zoo just exploring around SJC area after grabbing a coffee. Now with a toddler, I appreciate the small petting zoo they have, which is covered and just big enough for my 1.5-year-old, but small enough so that mommy doesn't have to run around chasing after him. Entry is a bit on the pricey side at $15/person, $12/senior, and kids are free up to 18 months old. They have feed baskets for sale at $6 a basket, that includes lettuce, apples, carrots and broccoli. I would look on Groupon bc they have some pretty good deals on entries there once in a while. For example, I purchased a punch card for 20 entries and 4 feed baskets (or train rides, but your kids have to be old enough to ride on their own - no adults allowed on train - so we exchanged them for feed baskets instead) for $80 on Groupon, which expires at the end of the year, which is an awesome deal. We usually only go for an hour or two and that's enough for me. On weekends or during the summer or holidays, it can get pretty crowded, but if you can go on a weekday as us SAHMs can, then you can pet all the guinea pigs you want for as long as you want. They have two pens of guinea pigs and usually one is open unless they are really crowded. The guinea pigs are for the most part friendly, but after all, they are guinea pigs and skittish by nature. I used to have one, but I'm still afraid of getting scratched by these guys. My son loves them though and has grown more comfortable with each visit. There is also a section with goats, and although you can't take a feed basket in there, you can pet and brush them. It's a bit too much for my little one, because sometimes they butt heads, but for older ones it could be fun. And right next to that is an alpaca, a llama, and a sweet brown cow. I forgot to mention the bunnies, two pigs, and emu that you can also feed, but just can't enter their pens. Oh, and the chickens they have in a coop next to the check-in stand. They have pony rides available and they are beautiful ponies and look like they are loved. Beyond the petting area is a corn hut where kiddos can play in a sea of corn kernels, or a "mining" area where they can play in water and mine for "gold." Then there's a "wild west" section as well as a playground, and then areas for private parties. We usually just stay in the animal pen section bc I really don't have the energy for much more, lol. I don't know what we will do once we use up all our basket tokens, I can't see myself paying $6 for a basket when that's the cost of a meal for ourselves! We love it there and got it for a great price, although I would be hesitant to visit as much as we do and pay the regular entry fee each time.

Zoomars Petting Zoo is so much fun for little kids to get to play with & feed lots of different animals. There is a large area of Guinea pigs where children (and adults!) can hold, pet & feed them. There are a lot of other animals (llamas, a baby cow, an ostrich, goats & sheep) you can pet & feed. The kids can ride a pony, ride in a little train and even do some mining for treasures! It's near the train station so you can even take the train to Zoomars. Lots of fun.

We’ve been going to Zoomars for ten years and it continues to be a hit with all the kids we know - my daughter is now a teenager and still loves to go back.
