- jmbc04Hudson River Valley, New York324 contributionsRelaxed and Inviting SettingTasting start at $45 per person and most featured 5 wines. The inside tasting room also has a wonderful deli/bakery area and wine and gift shop. You can purchase delicious sandwiches and cheeses and eat in the picnic area. The staff was very pleasant and were not pushy or stuffy like some other wineries. A must stop if you are in the Napa Valley area.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 October 2023
- L TranNew York City, New York660 contributionsNice place to relax, have lunch, and buy some wine. This is my default lunch stop every time I visit Napa Valley. I love the market and the picnic table setting in the garden. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing, and reservation is not needed. The place is photogenic as well. Their wines are good and reasonably priced.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 14 November 2023
- gpratventures63 contributionsPerfect picnic breakStopped here between other tours and it was the perfect place for a picnic! The marketplace had an awesome selection of pastas, sandwiches, and wine. It wasn't quite peak season so there were plenty of picnic tables available. We'd love to go back and do a bubbly tasting.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 30 April 2024
- markabaddonApple Valley, Minnesota187 contributionsAnother incredible visit to V SattuiThis was our third visit to V Sattui and it truly is one of the best wineries in the area. My biggest challenge when visiting is whether to choose the garden tasting or the tower tasting. For this trip, we did the tower tasting again and both the wines and the ambiance were superbVisited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 June 2024
- Alimay414Charlotte, North Carolina50 contributionsBeautiful sceneryI visited this vineyard for a birthday celebration. It’s a very beautiful place, a lot of spots to enjoy the scenery. We had a private lunch which I will say was delicious. Our guide was Drew, he was very personable and accommodating. My only issue with the tasting is that our group was rather large, maybe 35 of us and I didn’t feel like they were truly prepared for such a big group. We didn’t really get much history of the vineyard, unless we asked and we didn’t find out much about the wines, unless we asked. I feel Like they should have probably had a small microphone system with a speaker and went over the wines prior to pouring. Also, we had to ask for a bucket since it wasn’t provided on the table. This venue as extremely crowded, I didn’t really care for that also. It seems to be very commercialized. Long lines for the ladies room also so don’t wait until the last minute to go.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 4 August 2024

I bought two wine tasting passes for Saturday February 2nd. I had a family emergency the day of the tasting, and I needed to cancel my reservation. I called multiple times throughout the day and left a voicemail, after a month I still haven't received any type of response. I'm really disappointed in the lack of customer service On V. Sattui's part.

We should have known something was up when we had to pay for our tasting outside and the voucher we were given had NO REFUNDS slapped on it. Really?! That's because this place is a cattle call with a line 'em up, sell 'em something, and move 'em on attitude. The wines were mediocre at best and trying to find a place to squeeze up to the bar was both difficult and irritating. With so many beautiful relaxing places to visit I'm irked that we wasted any time here at all.

I went here with my mom and we felt extremely rushed compared to all the other wineries. The guy doing our tastings barely talked to us and when he would come over he would immediately say "behind the plexiglass please" and nothing else lol. The only time he spent time talking to us was when he decided to try and sell us on the wine club membership under his name. When we told him we were just visiting and we would think about it he walked away. He then took my last glass of wine that wasn't finished ... so my mom and I just walked away because I guess I wasn't going to finish that lol.

The tasting was nothing personal. It is like you are sitting at a bar and keep asking for your pour. The person who was helping us with the tasting did not seem interested in telling us anything about the wines or winery. We had to ask him a few times. To be fair, when we asked he did tell us a few things. He was serving 5 other groups and it felt like a crowded bar than a tasting. However, the wines are good and the grounds and the property is beautiful. If you want to make a day trip out of it where you buy a bottle and some cheese and sit with friends outside, it is great! Visit this place to buy some wine and wine accessories but if you are looking for a wine tasting experience, better spend your money elsewhere.

This was my first time visiting and my husband’s second. The winery is pretty large with lots to explore, but it does get quite crowded since it’s one of the few wineries that has extensive food options available. Lots of families and friend groups set up around the picnic areas to enjoy some lunch! Definitely grab something from the deli as the food is really good, but the waits can get a bit long. You are also not allowed to have food while tasting, but that may just be a COVID rule for now. (That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars, it took 45 min just to get a sandwich.)
Our tasting was scheduled for 3pm and we were seated in the outside tent right away. Tastings are $45 and I also upgraded to include the 2 Reserve Cabernets for $7. Compared to some of our other tastings I initially thought the price was a bit steep, but we totally got the value with Big Ed as our host! He was absolutely amazing! Boisterous and funny, informative about the wines, and really gave us the bang for our buck. I’m fairly certain that by the time we left, we had tried everything there was to try! My husband loves dessert wines and Big Ed really hooked him up, trying things side by side and some custom blends!
We had so much fun and after we couldn’t decide which port to buy, we ended up walking away with both the Madeira and the 15 year port! Huge shout out to Big Ed for making it such a fun experience and treating us right!

Hustled in and hustled out like cattle. Our waiter was a bit condescending and indifferent. I was charge for a tasting of 4 even though only 3 of us could make it, they would not refund the fourth tasting even though, because of Covid rules, they couldn’t have used that seat at our table for anyone else, and didn’t let the three of us share the fourth tasting! 3 other wineries that day had no problem charging for just the three of us even though we had reservations for four. I brought friends from out of town and was embarrassed by the service. The wine, however, was very good, but not worth it for the hassle and obvious push for a high turnover of tastings. I would not recommend this place!

V. Satturi is a very friendly and laid back Winery in St. Helena. We came here as a last stop for our day, around 3/3:30PM. It was recommended to us from a friend who lives in SaN Francisco! The grounds are beautiful and no reservation was needed- even during their busiest month of the year!
We choose the indoor wine tasting, as opposed to waiting 45 minutes for an outdoor tasting. We LOVED our sommelier, Jack, who was very attentive, personable, interactive, knowledgeable and fun. This tasting allowed for 5 wines each. The wines were are very tasty and Jack even let us sample some additional ones as well. If you're looking for a beautiful but welcoming experience, this is the place.
V. Satturi has a beautiful store inside full of cheeses, wine, sandwiches (which we ordered and were DELICIOUS), pastas, etc. A very enjoyable experience. After our tasting, we went to tables and eat our food and bought a bottle of wine. Great atmosphere, very chill and welcoming. They also have a place for you to bring a blanket and have a picnic. I would highly recommend if you enjoy hospitality and not just a formal experience.

We had a lovely visit to celebrate my birthday that was back in March during the initial stages of lockdown. We visited in August and everyone was safely separated by about 12 feet between tables. All wore masks and temperatures were taken before entering. With that being said, wonderful experience to be sitting out doors, under the gorgeous oaks, sipping delicious wine. Smiles and laughter every where!

I was a little shocked at how things seemed thrown together after being told that V. Sattui is the most visited winery in the valley area. Felt like we were tossed around to multiple staff and locations on the property, all in all four different employees were involved with our experience, three of which since we were sat and began tasting wine. Me and my spouse were the first customers of the day, the reservation I made over the phone; and even confirmed with email prior to coming due to the Glass fire having closed many wineries, had been lost. Then we were told one section was closed and we would be in a certain section, then that we were going to be in the cellar as it was the best experience because that section was actually closed. At this point we had been told to follow a path and get into the main building so we could select any food items to accompany our wines and then meet the gentleman at the counter to get going on our tasting. So we do that and are having the location changed to the cellar tasting and that no food items are allowed down there even if purchased at the winery was a little upsetting. I explained that we had planned on doing an outside tasting using a passport we had purchased earlier in the year and preferred to be outside especially because we had already selected some pairings, the gentleman asked us to wait while he went and figured something out. We waited for several minutes and were told to meet outside behind the building in this certain area, again being told and not shown so we could have ended up anywhere we wanted, luckily we found the correct place only to find several tables that had been left dirty from the night before as the gentleman was cleaning the table we were to sit at. I am glad the table was cleaned and he began to clean others around us once we began tasting, but I am not certain I would return. Not sure if he was a team lead or manager, he had another gentleman take over for us. Now this gentleman did a great job, but before we left and finished our tasting he went on a lunch break...Remind you we were the first customers of the day and this was not even 1130am yet. The third gentleman was very nice and finished us up. I am not sure I would come back, even for some of the wines that we really enjoyed and wanted to purchase. We both laughed off saying that another person would be coming to take the wine order and yet another person to deliver it after being directed elsewhere on the property.

winery is kid and pet friendly. Wines are not bad . But I had a terrible customer service that makes me give this place 2 stars .
We visited with our friends who are members . The person serving tasting indicated that we can sign up for cellar membership and get tasting for 4 members for free . So we bought wine worth 500 bucks and signed up for the membership. When we tried to set up the next visit for 4 people, it showed charges for 2. I called the winery and tried to understand the reason. The lady at reservations ( Cindy ) said that as of early 2022, the have changed the rules to provide free tasting for 2 people only! When I told her the information I was given , she said she will waive the fee for 2 additional people . ( which was very nice of her - so 1 star goes to her ). I asked her how I can fix this confusion. She gave me contact of her manager (Ali) and said she could help. When I contacted Ali, she refused to take any ownership of the misinformation provided . All she kept saying was it’s not possible . Well- I don’t have any way to prove that her own people provided wrong information ( unless I recorded the conversation).
Such terrible customer service where they refuse to take ownership of their own action and information provided . So do not sign up for any club or membership unless you check and double check what are the rules . The wines are not even the best in Napa. So save your money and take your business somewhere else . Extremely disappointing.

Planning a trip for September. Can we get lunch and glasses of wine without booking a tasting? Trying to plan our trip to maximize our time
Written 21 July 2022
Yes, they have a little market where you can buy prepared foods. You can buy a bottle, but not sure about glasses. You can take it all outside and enjoy at a picnic table. However, this was our favorite winery to visit, so you might want to consider a tasting. Do the cheapest one which is adjacent to the market.

We would like to visit here to buy some wines without tour. How much is it for just tasting? And, it is redeem by getting some bottles?
We are two people, and one is a driver. Is it possible to share one glass?
I understand the tasting fee is included for the tour fee($35), and if one person does not do tasting, do two people can join in the tour with one tour fee($35)?
Thank you for your help!

Hi, we have a Cellar Pass Passport which includes a tasting at this vineyard. Which tasting is included with the Cellar Pass?
Written 5 February 2019
We just did this yesterday. The traditional tasting is included. We were very pleased with the selections (everyone there was receiving the same types regardless of type of tasting it seemed). Our host was very knowledgeable and we received a few small pours as well. Definitely recommend with the cellarpass and then grab lunch on the grounds.

The price included three tastings, so it depends on how quickly you drink. If you have an itinerary with many stops, you should be in and out within 45 minutes without having to rush.

Anyone know if you can walk from v.sattui winery to hall winery. They are very close and when I map it out it says 8 min walk or 1 min drive. I’m just wondering if anyone knows if it’s doable to walk between the 2 wineries. Thanks in advance.

Yes, no sidewalks in Napa - better/safer to drive.

Danville, California
Does any of your tour personnel or wine pourers speak Italian as well as English? We have family coming here to visit for the first time (we live in Danville, CA) from Matera, Italy next month (mid-October). Same question for Castello di Amorosa...??
Written 8 September 2017
We ran into an Italian host at Castello di Amorosa in August 2018, pouring wine for the tastings. He had only been in the U.S. for a few weeks and was working in Napa Valley for experience to take back to his families' winery in Italy. But I don't think you can count on that -- it'd be hit or miss whether someone was available when you were there. I agree with other answers that both wineries seemed to have a diverse employee base which might increase the odds.
Written 19 October 2018
Does anyone know if we can bring a good 10 month old with us in a stroller? Some wineries frown on it. I want to know if we are welcomed before we just show up. Also would we be able to do a tour?
Written 24 July 2017
I saw a lot of children of all ages when visiting this winery. I can't imagine it would be an issue.
