This is one of the greatest 21st century works of architecture. You must enter the building and be amazed up stairs as well as downstairs.

A place worth to visit, to appreciate an uncommon architecture for a church. It's close to several bus route stops, so it's an easy place for a tourist to find.

The building is interesting to look at. The first time I attended a concert there to hear the organ I was very disappointed. The sound system is awful and the sound faded in and out. It's very disappointing that so much was spent on the...More

This cathedral is an oasis in the midst of pedestrian urban gray. It was open for visitors and once inside I did not want to leave.

We have been to 2 choral concerts here and sat in the "cheap seats" because the acoustics are so good the sound quality was as good as up front. Interesting interior with high ceiling and laminated beams. It is worth a quick walk through if...More

This is a beautiful modern cathedral in uptown Oakland. You don't have to be Catholic to go inside and appreciate the fish shaped building. There are wonderful wooden louvered walls for acoustics and a large organ which when played can fill the room and gives...More

In this magnificently beautiful church by Lake Merritt, I was dismayed when I could not hear the minister's message or the personal tributes given by friends/family of the deceased. Their voices echoed off the rounded walls and the acoustics hurt your ears. It is a...More

I attended a concert here around Christmas and was surprised at how quite unimpressive the interior is. I thought that it would feel mystical and inspiring, but it just seemed bland and too bright. While the wood paneling is lovely, it didn't create a warm...More

As long as it is light outside it should be easily visible. We were there mid day, until about 4 in the afternoon for a special event. It was overcast, but still clearly visible.
