Enjoyed an unexpected stop at Jack London Sq - it was Sunday so they had a wonderful farmers market which we bought beautiful veggies/fruits/flowers and yummy pastries! Great place to walk along water with beautiful views!
As an East Bay resident, I enjoy spending Sunday morning strolling along the marina front at Jack London Sq.
I enjoy the farmers market, views of the estuary, Rosenblum Winery, boats and ferries sailing by, people watching, etc. plus generally great weather.

My two cents worth, though this doesn't directly address your question. Check if you could book a room with a water view at the Waterfront Hotel with a heated outdoor salt water pool, a fireplace in the lobby. A decent rate would be under USD 200 a night, but it depends on the vacancy at the time of booking. The more inventory, the lower the price and vice versa.
