- TerrasTravelsLas Vegas, Nevada2,962 contributionsDomaine CarnerosWe were about two hours late to our reservation, because our flights were delayed, but they were so nice that they got us in! Very very nice people and the customer service the whole time was great! The selection is amazing! Tons of sparkling wine ! I wish we could do all of the tastings! Everything we tasted was great! I read online somewhere that they give a bigger military discount than they did, but I guess that website was wrong. They still gave us a discount, but it wasn’t as much as the blog I read. As soon as you walk up, you feel like you are about to walk into a palace or a mansion. Definitely get some pictures! Even when you are inside or outside on the patio, the view is spectacular! Definitely one of the wineries that you do not want to miss!Terra, we are so glad to hear you enjoyed your time at the Chateau and we were able to reschedule your appointment! - NatalieSan Diego, California169 contributionsA story book-like chateau for wine tasting! The views and the vibe of the chateau are like something you see in movies or it's like Instagram in real life. It is located on top of a hill and you cannot miss this in case you are cruising by. The interior is elegant and you have a picturesque view of the vineyards and also catch the sunset. They have a great selection of wine and also serve small bites. We got our wine flights with a charcuterie board to share. Our server was kind, patient, and attentive and we had a great conversation with him and learned more about the property, the wines, and other information. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your experience at the Chateau. We agree - the views of the vineyards are magical. - BuenViaje68Tempe, Arizona559 contributionsThe BEST wine tasting of our entire weekend! We engaged in 5 different winery tastings over a long weekend end and this was BY FAR our most favorite tasting. First, the property and grounds are beautiful! This place is reminiscent of traditional French Chateaus. Get there early and walk the grounds before going inside to attend a tasting. Domain Carneros is known for their Sparking Wines. We were fortunate to have Sherry, the Wine Fairy, as our guide. We were seated downstairs in an area that overlooks their production facilities. The view was meh, but that didn’t detract from the delicious tastings. We loved almost every we tried. We were so impressed both couples in our group joined their wine club. Sherry made our experience memorable. She is a gem! Also, they sell beautiful flutes for their sparkling wines at very reasonable prices. If you only have time for a couple of tastings, make sure this one is on your list!Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind words - we'll make sure to pass on the sentiments to Sherry! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your time at the Chateau and look forward to hosting you again. I live in Northern California and I’m fortunate to be close enough to visit Napa regularly for the last 10 plus years and we love this winery. The grounds are gorgeous, the service is excellent and the sparkling rose is worth a tasting. Also would recommend for tastings, girls trip and couples adventures. Definitely worth a visit.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review ! We truly appreciate the kind words, and we're delighted to hear you enjoyed your time at the Chateau. - perrypickerign225 contributionsSparkling Wine ExperienceDomaine Carneros is a Napa Valley sparkling wine winery. They do not offer tours but they do have several charcuterie board brunch options which include flights of sparkling wines and some regular wines to sample. The chees and crackers and fruit accent some of the sparkling wines quite well. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. It is not free and you need to make reservations.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your experience with us at the Chateau. - Jane10 contributionsA Very Enjoyable TastingWe were a little nervous booking our tasting on a Sunday at 4pm knowing that the winery closed at 5pm, but we had a great experience and sat sipping our wines until almost 6pm with no issues. The flight of sparkling wines was delicious, and both the view and the service were wonderful. We actually had an issue when we first arrived with a couple nearby having a fight that was hard to ignore, but we mentioned the issue to our server and within minutes the manager handed the couple their check and out they went, so the rest of our time there was quiet and lovely. The gift shop offered several fun items that we added to our collection, and having the ability to park at the top of the hill and not walk up the many steps in front was most welcome. We'd recommend a stop for a tasting.JaneMaine, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed you Sunday evening with us at the Chateau! - Kate_RenBoston, Massachusetts56 contributionsMorning Champagne at the ChateauI visited Domaine Carneros on a girls trip to Napa recently. Since this winery specializes in sparkling, we decided to reserve a tasting in the morning so we could fit in some of the wineries that specialize in red later in the day - you can drink before 11AM if it's a brunch drink, right?! The grounds are beautiful and there are so many fun photo opportunities outside of the chateau. We opted to sit on the front patio to enjoy the fresh air. The service was excellent. The wines were delicious. My friend who is gluten and dairy free was able to order a vegan cheese board that we all ended up trying - seriously the best vegan cheese I've ever had. While this winery is on the larger side and can be a little more touristy, it's 100% worth the visit, especially if you pepper some smaller family wineries afterward.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! The outdoor seating has a good ambiance overlooking the garden from the top. They have different categories in wine tasting, but they are known for the sparkling wine. We had the still wine along with cheese plate. Our server was nice and took his time to explain each glass for us.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review ! - MsCasualTravelorHartford, Connecticut639 contributionsLoved Our First VisitCame here for a family celebration! Although we hoped with our reservation to sit in the atrium, we were seated outside and as the sun moved, staff rearranged umbrellas so we did not get too much sun. We all chose the same wine tasting, and the wines did not disappoint! The apps were just enough of a ‘nosh’ while looking at the beautiful countryside. Our server, Jackson, was very friendly and knowledgeable. When he went on break, Janelle did a great job filling in.We are thrilled to hear you had a wonderful time with both Jackson and Jenelle - we'll make sure to pass along the kind words! We arrived here off season and the main tasting room was closed for renovations on this day of the week. They had a very nice patio area to sit and enjoy, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do a tasting. The host that we talked to was very nice, but they had requirements that all 6 of our party would have to spend so much each, etc. so it sort of turned us off and made it all more complicated. They were very nice to let us walk around and enjoy the ground for a few minutes so all is good - it is gorgeous!

Very impersonal experience.
Had informed the concierge here while booking that it was our 25th anniversary and also the fact that we were from the hospitality industry.
Now, it is common practice that most if not all wineries provide a couple of complimentary tastings to employees of the industry and that is what we were told over the phone too.
We were very excited to go here on our anniversary day but the experience left us completely disgusted. The person who served us was very condescending. He stared by saying, “I believe it is your anniversary and where do you work??” We told him where and his response was, “what are you expecting?”
We told him what the concierge had told us over the phone and he said “I’ll see what I can do”. All this was being done in a loud and very dramatic way.
After a few minutes, he appears with 2 sets of glasses and pours a little sparkling wine in each glass and walks away.
We were so embarrassed by this whole situation that we just left.
Now the icing on the cake- An hour later there is a voicemail on my mobile phone telling us “you forgot to pay”!!
I called back and left a message asking for someone to call me back if they wanted payment. It’s been 5 days. No one has called.
Sparkling wine is meant for celebrations but not Domaine Carneros. I wonder what Tattinger will have to say about their ‘do not care’ attitudes.
If you are listening Domaine Carneros - please call me back so I can pay for something We did not consume.
Email to Tattinger in its way.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience, and thank you for providing us specific feedback. We are dismayed to learn there was a miscommunication between the concierge and your wine educator, and as result we did not know you were celebrating a special event. Ultimately, we regret the service you received. We aim to provide an excellent experience to all guests of the Chateau and are very disappointed that in this instance we failed. We are sorry we have not been successful in connecting with you regarding your experience. Debi, our Visitor Center Manager, would like to speak with you should you choose to reach out. Thank you.

We went on a weekday and got one of the last tasting times, around 5pm. We were seated right away but waited for a long time to be served, apparently the host didn't inform the server that we were there. After that though the staff were very attentive and even took a few photos for us. We both chose the sparkling wine flight. They were all on the dry side but still very good. The outdoor patio was very nice, especially toward the end of the day, I imagine it would be pretty warm in the afternoon sun.

Made an early reservation for a tasting and enjoyed luscious sparking wines by the fire tended and educated by Peter. He did a great job explaining the lovelies and we left with a few bottles and an appreciation for the art of champenoise. Beautiful views, great service, excellent wines and sparkling.

My wife and I started our Napa Valley weekend with a stop at Domaine Carneros. On arrival you are first struck by how beautiful the grounds are. The beautiful chateau that is home to Domaine Carneros is stunning.
We checked in for our tasting and were escorted to a table for two on the patio. Each table has an umbrella for shade. Our 11am tasting was perfect with sunshine and low 70 degree temperatures. Our host and tasting guide Sean was so helpful. He walked us through the tasting options. We selected the Sparkling Wine Sampler and the Cheese and Charcuterie Selection.
Sean took time to tell us about each wine we tasted and included an extra wine not on the menu later in the tasting. We took our time to enjoy each wine and the cheese & charcuterie, as well as the conversation with Sean. We were excited to join the Chateau Society Classic Sparkling Wine Club to enjoy these wines at home in Dallas. We were pleasantly surprised that by joining the club, our tasting for the day was complimentary.
Domaine Carneros will be on the itinerary for all future trips to Napa Valley.

My wife and I visited Domaine Carneros during our one day of wine tasting in the Napa Valley. We were really looking forward to the wine tasting and visiting the building and grounds but we left feeling disappointed.
We were frustrated to see other people receiving excellent customer service from their servers who explained the wines and went above and beyond to make sure that their customers had a great time. We cannot say that our server provided the same service as he was unfriendly and we felt rushed after we had finished our wines.
We ordered two of the sparkling wine samplers and none of the wines were fantastic and worth the bottle price. We also ordered a charcuterie selection which cost $25, however it was extremely basic and was only worth around $10.
We visited smaller vineyards and received much better customer service and the wines were better. We will therefore not be returning to Domaine Carneros in the future.

Beware!! The reviews posted are very dubious and I don’t think they were written by actual clients. We went with the classic wine Tasting and chose to have a salmon plate with it. The salmon that we ordered wasn’t fresh and had a fishy taste and smell. The wine glasses were smaller than the usual and the red wine was not even served in a red wine glass. And lastly, the ambiance was so bad and Samantha your reservation manager was awful. We were running late and she couldn’t give us a later table, and then threatened us that she will charge the whole amount of our wine tasting if we didn’t show up. When we spoke to the manager about it she was defensive and she said that it was a restaurant style tasting and that they were operating as such. She offered to take 10 percent off the bill but this doesn’t even amount to the tip that we gave!! Just a really awful experience that left a very sour tase in our mouths as you were the last stop on our first ever adventure. Very cheap place with a tourist trap vibe. Do not come here!!

We deeply enjoyed our visit to Domaine Carneros which was an end of day affair. The sparkling wine was the perfect finish to a long day and the bubbly hit the spot. We were a larger group, so they have a mandatory per group charge, which was thoroughly disappointing, especially since we had some nontasters, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. The sparkling wine is among the best in the world. The place feels a bit more like a basic tasting than the luxurious affair that it's environs suggest, but it is still worth a one time stop or a bottle purchase to go. We loved our host.

I go to Napa every year for a Beverage Professional Seminar and the yellow chateau of Domaine Carneros is the stop I make, even before I get to my hotel. It's on the way from the airport and it's a perfect welcome once you get to wine country. The salon, where most seating is, is a gorgeous room with large windows, a fireplace at one end, and beautiful small tables strewn throughout. The sparkling wines are wonderfully made in the traditional method and the servers are incredibly knowledgable about every wine. The cheese plates are also great - all be it a little small. Did I mention this is a female-run organization for those who want to support women in wine?

Our second stop on Day 1 in Napa Valley was, of course, Domaine Carneros. It is just as beautiful as the pictures make it out to be, and the wine is great. I had the sparkling sampler and my husband had the red wine sampler, and both had a really great variety across the spectrum.
This stop was a bit less "guided" than some of the others we went to, but they still did a really nice job of explaining the wines, the flavors to look out for, and how you can pair them (they have pairing options available, we just didn't take advantage of them).
We purchased one bottle of wine from the red flight and one from the sparkling, and also joined their wine club to have one of each delivered. With their wine club, you're only committed to two shipments, and if you buy two bottles while you're there it counts as your first - a pretty good deal when you consider they always wave your tasting fee! I don't see us cancelling, but always nice to know you have options!

do you have any vegan friendly food available?
Written 5 May 2019
Hello, thank you for asking. The timing of your question is serendipitous. Beginning this Friday, May10, we will be offering a special vegan plate featuring products from Miyoko's Kitchen, a local vegan producer. All of our wines are vegan.

What does the tour include at $60 per person?
Written 10 April 2019
The “tour” is basically an augmented tasting. You only get to see one production room through a glass wall and hear a lot of history about the winery and building. You do get to go out on the private terrace but the view isn’t much different than what you get from the regular terrace. I’d get a flight on the outdoor terrace and do my own tasting if I went again.
Written 10 April 2019
For pregnant/non alcoholic guests, can they join the group on the terrace or do they have to buy a tour/tasting?
Written 11 March 2019
You are more than welcome to join your group on the terrace without purchasing a tasting, however if you purchase a tour it is the same price for any guest participating. If you have further questions, Alison is happy to help! 707.266.5151.

We are staying in the River Terrace INN in Napa for one night in September on our Honeymoon and want to visit Domaine Carneros. Is it far from Napa? We don't want to driver ourselves as we want to do some tasting.. What is the easiest / most cost effective way of getting here and back ! Hiring a driver?
if anyone had any tips it would be greatly appreciated!
