While exploring Muir Woods National Park, we realized that we needed to book parking to see the Redwoods days-weeks in advance as there is no other parking to access the Redwoods trail. So we kept driving. Ended up at Muir Beach on the Pacific coast...More

Great place to stop after going to Muir Woods - very pretty setting. The beach was not busy and has no facilities, apart from a car park. No food/drink available, but that's part of the attraction. Lots of evidence of impromptu barbeques. I think you...More

Had a nice time. There are fire pits made out off rocks that you can use. We got there late in the day so they were all taken. There are bathrooms at the parking lot so if you got to go you have to walk...More

Dogs running wild, partly dirty appears to be used too much for grilling/partying. Not worth the extra visit in my opinion as you will also take into account quite a drive.

Parking lot seems to always be full, take the time to find a spot. People come and go regularly. Gorgeous beach, friendly people. Restrooms in parking lot. Two little girls loved it!

My husband and I went to see the Muir park, but we didn't know about the parking reservation, so it was full when we got there. So we decided to check out the beach. It was phenomenal. We saw lots of star fish, colorful crabs,...More

Nice beach that is dog friendly. Easy to get to and if you get there early you can park close in. Try the pub at the turn off for a nice English pub lunch too.

This is a beautiful beach, no doubt! It's quite a ways out-of-the way, but the beach itself is gorgeous. However, beware of the bathrooms! Go before you drive all the way out here. The toilet covers a huge hole--which is a bit frightening on multiple...More

For the beach you just go. For the National Park/redwoods you must reserve parking ahead of time. It’s only $8.00.
