Only place in the world to see Komodo dragons in the wild - and there is no real protection except maintaining a safe distance and counting on your guides. These critters can run and are venomous, so respect them! Don't stray. Aside from komodos on...More

Did a 2D1N boat trip. Saw Rinca,Komodo and Padar. With what I saw ( a few sleepy dragons ) vs what I paid ( £200 return flight to labuan bajo, £350 for 2 days of boat and 700k rupiah park entrance) it is really not...More

Firstly, my strong recommendation would be to take your time, station yourself in Labuan Bajo town itself and slowly look around for a good value for money tour to fit your needs. This way, you get to see exactly what you are paying for, eg...More

The most disappointing thing I've seen in 40 years of travelling. After finishing a tough 6 years in Singapore, I thought I visit the famed Dragons Of Komodo as I left the region. Bucket List? Truth be told - cross it off and don't bother...More

While on a cruise, we stopped at Komodo Island. The only way to visit this park is by guided tour -- it's a totally hoakie experience leaving you feeling like you got rooked. If we didn't pay for the ship's tour, we could not leave...More

We are a married couple in our late 60s from Peru and USA. We had 53 days for this trip and in the end spent 6 in East Nusa Tenggara. We had planned to travel from Bali by ferry and bus, but the 2018 disaster...More

The park organizes three levels of nature walks with the climax being the watering hole where the Komodo dragons gather. It was absolutely stunning to see these prehistoric animals up close. We saw a few from the nature walk path, but the main gathering spot...More

You can get cool pictures and see the dragons, but it’s pretty lame as far as an adventure. Packed trails with throngs of cruise ship tourists. The hike, besides the dragon viewing spots, are a waste of time because of trampled nature and some dead...More

This was a stop on a cruise. We took the ship's tour as we could not find anything privately. It was very hot that day but every once in a while we would catch a breeze. We had a very good guide who discussed the...More

Doubtful. It's a working port and nobody is usually chilling there waiting for customers. The town is like two roads and all the guided tours have shops about a 5-7 minute walk from boats.

I am not so sure about a cruise ship’s protocol. I did not go there on a cruise ship but on a “live on board a boat package” and the boat took us there. Visitors must be accompanied by armed (with wooden staffs) rangers... More
