Leave at least a couple of hours to really enjoy the exhibits. When we visited, one of the founders of mountain biking, Joe Breeze explained the exhibits and really make them come alive. I like cycling, but I'm not a "gearhead", I loved the museum....More
My favourite day on our family trip to SF. Took the ferry to larkspur then rode to Fairfax - an easy & pleasant ride.
Fantastic collection of bikes, run by passionate friendly people with a Californian grassroots feel.

I am so glad you and your family visited the Marin Museum of Bicycling last week. It was a pleasure for me to meet you and give you a tour of our collections. As an all-volunteer organization we have a lot of passion...More
My wife and I were visiting friends in San Anselmo who knew of our interest in bicycling and recommended a visit to this place. What a find! The exhibit is small but packed with great displays of unique and important bicycles, videos of races and...More
The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful in pointing out the significance of a lot of the displays inside. I particularly enjoyed some of the early mountain bike models from local legends that started the whole world-wide sport from this location... but they also had...More

Don't be fooled by the size of the museum. The first nine bikes representing 200 years of cycling evolution was fascinating. I had the pleasure of being toured through the museum by Cecile. She was the "Wealth of Knowledge." I would recommend that if you...More

Thank you for your nice review, Mitchell! We usually do have a docent available for giving tours and answering questions.
Joe Breeze gave my husband and I a great tour of the museum. He is so knowledgeable about biking history, culture, and design as a founder, Mountain Bike maker, and hall of famer. Thanks again, definitely recommend.
We went along with two mountain bikers and I found myself really getting into the history. Joe Breeze, an important early participant in the sport of mountain biking and curator of the museum, gave us a personal and detailed tour of the museum. We were...More
