Whenever I'm fortunate enough to find time here with family I am amazed at the beauty, peacefulness, and friendliness of the community. Watching the sun rise and set from the beach houses is an added perk.

I had multiple opportunities to visit Capitola when I was young, and during my return in July, years later, Capitola retained that wonderful beach front charm. Sure some of the stores and restaurants have changed- but those that have remained or are new are fun...More

We were told to visit Capitola when we were in Carmel Beach, and we were so please we did it. It is only 45 min. away from Carmel, the city is a micro version of little Venice Italy, so beautiful. It is California’s oldest seaside...More

Maybe because there were lots of people on the beach, that’s why it looks a bit shabby. The town of Capitola is very charming and I hope everyone does their job to clean up after each used. We will all benefit and enjoy it more...More

It is real surprise. Close to Santa Cruz this small area is like a time jump. Small beach surrounded by colorful old style houses. Perfect for half a day out of time

Capitola was always a vacation destination. We usually end up at the beach the same week they are holding junior life guard classes. It is busier, of course, that time of year. You can fish off the pier, boogie board in the kelp (sharks don’t...More

This tiny picturesque beach village can be VERY crowded. Minimal numbered street parking is now pre-paid at digital pay stations which provide awfully confusing instructions, but which will take a credit card once you figure out how to complete the transaction. Most confusing was that...More

I personally never heard of this town before, though it has been considered California's oldest seaside resort. I instantly fell in love with this town and am definitely considering to come back again soon and perhaps stay overnight. Since we came here on Memorial Day...More

Not sure if they have hours posted. I've been there after 10pm and saw a few other people there also. Most other beaches in the area just don't want campfires past 10pm.
