We arrived when they opened, so parking was not a problem (we were also there during the week in October). We started with the easy Redwood Trail and then hit the moderate Sequoia Trail. Had we known how awesome this place was, we wouldn't have...More

This is an amazing place to visit for day hiking in the redwoods. Miles of trails, some stretching alway to the beach. There are cabin sites, which are cozy and fun. They have potbelly stove heating inside with raised mattresses and even offer camping packages...More

Fortunately the weather was prefect to walk the trails and see these huge trees!! This state park was beautiful and well maintained. If you are in the area, do add this State Park to your to do list.

We visited the Muir Woods on Wednesday and decided to visit the Big Basin Redwood State Park the next day. I don’t know which one is my favorite but you should have both of them on your itinerary. Unlike the Muir Woods, there is no...More
