a lovely walk with views to die for when you reach the top. Although im scared of heights I took the plunge and walked all the way to the top with wind and rain but so pleased i did.

nice castle to walk to from tongue. get good views of loch.. good way to walk off breakfast. castle belongs to a clan.

I stayed in B&B with the castle view so i had to climb there. The views from the top are lovely. You do not have to be very fit to get there.

Lovely walk from Tongue although final bit was steep and rough underfoot. Well worth the scramble for fabulous view across the water.

In a country with an extraordinary amount of castles, the correct name for it should be “tower”, as it’s the remainder of a room with 4 tall walls. The ascent is steeper than expected, so we stopped quite a few times at the end. Nice...More

I parked where ask the guides said, could see the castle and path in the distance but could not find the start of it. There are no signs, no visitor center and no one willing to answer questions.

We were staying in Tongue for 2 nights while we did the North Coast 500 trip which we did by car. Personally I wouldn't make a special trip to see Castle Varrich because it is little more than a watchtower and I don't know... More
