A long and pleasant walk along the gorge through breathtaking scenery, past waterfalls, fountains, deserted chapels and monasteries, to an authentic palm beach at Preveli. You can even catch a glimpse of a lammergeier if you are lucky. Watch out...more

We were on our way to Plakias when we drove through the gorge. All I can say is wow it was beautiful. We stopped for photos but couldn’t do any trekking as we had a small toddler with us. Worth seeing!

Great experience to drive from south coast to north (or vice versa) trought out this beautifull gorge- refresing wind, oleanders on mountin slopes and beautifull little church by the good road. Always a pleasure to pass
Kourtaliotis Gorge is worth a few stops if you happen to drive along. Impressive views all around. From one of the road viewpoints, 250 steps go down to the small church inside the gorge and to the waterfall.
We passed through on route to the beach on the south coast and simply had to stop. You cannot just drive through. It is quite stunning and the scale breathtaking.
Worth a trip to this part of Crete and a short top off.
