This is where the statue to Just Nuisance is situated, and there are several decent restaurants boardering the square. We ate at Bertha's just to the left of the square on the harbour front and it was really relaxing and enjoyable.

There were local traders selling the usual mementos on the square, they were friendly and not pushy.

Don't forget to look up and down the main street at the unusual architecture of the buildings, a bit like wild west style. We didn't have time but I woudlhave liked to wander around a few of the shops.

Not a great attraction, we only stopped here to see the statue of Just nuisance, not a lot of parking and a lot of beggars on the street.

We embarked and debarked from our whale watching boat at this jetty; and also had lunch in the square. The drive there from Cape Town was scenic. We enjoyed it a great deal.

Really friendly and helpful people at the information office. Friendly people at the restuarants and people selling African crafts.

Location: in central Naval base of Simonstown
Restaurants and boat experiences overlooking two Naval Ships in the harbour.
Historical town.

The town was named after Simon van der Stel. Simon's Bay was made the official winter anchorage for the Dutch East India Company's ships in 1743. Baron G. W. van Imhoff, Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, who touched at the Cape in the same year, chose a site for a magazine, hospital and barracks at Simonstown.

We stayed at Lord Nelson Hotel close by.
Situated: across the Naval base close to Jubilee square and jetty
history of this Hotel is a special tribute to beginning of time.
Some very special memorabilia items on display.

One can drive to Hout Bay, Simon’s Town, and Cape Point and more

Simonstown is a really lovely little town with some superb shops and a nice local daily market. The jetty and marina area is very picturesque with some good local restaurants. We enjoyed our visit, prior to going to Boulders Beach Penguin Colony.

Safe parking available, close to the main street and a little walk to the museums. Lots of flea market attractions. Coffee shops and restaurants and of course the water activities too.
