Although this is now a part ruin, one's imagination can run wild to create a vision of what this palace would have been like in its original feature. English Heritage watch over the site and its free for everyone to explore. This was one of...More

This is a lovely part of the country side but there is not a lot to do or see, it makes a nice walk on a nice day

This English Heritage site has a small free car park. Entrance to the site is also free. The site is small but there are several notices showing how it probably looked and explaining various features. The moat was dry when my wife and I visited....More

Bishop's Waltham Palace was much more interesting than expected. I would strongly recommend that, before you go, you visit their website and download the fact sheet on the Palace and, more importantly, the free audio guide telling you where to walk and what to see....More

It is difficult to review a site that has little to offer. Not enough information about the place itself.

We walked round this site after an overnight stay here on a beautiful morning. Very interesting place. Fascinating historic facts on the information boards. So peaceful it was hard to believe it was near a main road. Because it wasn't too big, it was easy...More

Popped in here when passing by on a Sunday afternoon. Stunning location, hidden away in the village of Bishop’s Waltham - I’ve driven past it so many times and would never have known it was there. Information boards were good, however could have done with...More

I do not believe there are any particular opening times. When I went there was no control on entering the palace, though the gate to the car park might be closed. If you assumed 1000-1800 then I would expect you would be OK.
