We love the Bavaro beach, we walk it every year, and each year is just as beautiful as the year before. Yes there is seaweed, but the clean up groups do an awesome job and it's usually all gone by 8:30 am each day.

I saw the worse and the best. I think if you go to the Palace you are fine in any circunstancies but the adults area cumulates more seaweed. January should be fine as this problem is more evident during Jun-Sep.

The sea grass/ sea weed/ algae issue is all over the Caribbean. Last year we were in St Martin the north west side of the beaches (Orient Bay, and such) on the island was covered, but where our resort was south end of the island was fine. Belize was covered in it 3 yrs ago. It isn’t a time of year or weather issue. It would be like trying to predict a hurricane for next year. It’s all over just look out the window of the airplane.
