This volunteer-run museum is an excellent presentation of the life, times and history of Abernethy. I have visited museums with hugely larger budgets and professional resources that have not been so imaginative and informative as is this museum. Whatever your interest about the community it...More

Thank you very much for your glowing review. As you say we are totally run by volunteers and so it is great to hear that our work is being enjoyed. We are open now Wednesday-Sunday 1pm - 4pm until 30 September.

This is a great museum that depicts the lives that were lived by the ordinary people of Abernethy. It is a wonderful example of a community collaborating to tell its story. A particularly topical exhibition of the history of World War 1 was well received...More

Dropped in here yesterday whilst in the area. Have tried to visit several times before but unfortunately it has always been closed - bad timing! Prospective visitors may be interested to know that the museum is open from early May until the end of September...More

Recently visited the museum with very little expectations and found this place to be a hidden Gem. Two women were extremely friendly and helpful and spent lots of time with our daughter. Learnt lots about an area so close by that we knew very little...More

Came here to discover my husband's heritage. A charming volunteer opened it up just for us on a day it was normally closed. (Pre arranged) A good local museum that has exhibits from both world wars, town history and displays on salmon fishing and raspberry...More
