We just returned to the UK after an amazing trip with Trek2Kili doing a 7 day Machame route. I have nothing but praise for Trek2Kili who were perfect in every respect. From the time we booked, they were responsive, helpful and efficient. On arrival, they sorted our transfers and made sure that we were all set for our trip.
The company is run but the highly professional Azizi who has great local knowledge and business sense and runs a tight ship. He was on hand to help with any queries but handed us over to our lead guide Nelson who dealt with our briefing and kit check before our departure. he did so with genuine knowledge and care, wanting to make sure that we were all set for the adventure ahead. On day 1, we then met our two assistant guides Conrad and Hussein who really made the best team we could have hoped for. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and reassuring and made sure that everything was brilliantly organised. Throughout the trip, we had an amazing group of porters, a chef, waiter and help on hand to make sure that we had amazing food, tents set up on arrival at camp, and everything we could have wanted during the hike.
There are so many companies out there that we found it quite difficult to know who to trust. Trek2Kili are definitely one of those companies, who will definitely ensure you have an excellent trip while also making sure that the trek is low impact and ensures that staff are properly looked after and remunerated. This was really important to us and Trek2Kili's commitment to KPAP is highly admirable. We loved ever minute, including summit night and were genuinely sad to leave our Kili family behind on departure. This was the most amazing of trips and I cannot recommend Trek2Kili highly enough.

I can’t say enough about our recent trip to Kilimanjaro and our experience with Trek2Kili! From the guides meeting us at the airport to the owner spending the day with us with absolutely no obligation, helping us get COVID tested a week after our climb. Every porter was so friendly and jovial as they sped past us hauling our camp ahead of us each day. Our four guides were all so positive and supportive of us all. My daughter was a bit nervous the day before the summit attempt, one of our guides Stephan sat with us and explained how we would feel physically and to be nervous was totally normal and that the guides were there to help in and way. She felt so much better mentally and ended up having a much better summit experience because of his kind knowledgeable words. It really felt like we were all in it together “one team, one dream!” The summit was great however, one of my favorite memories was when one of the two porters that summited with us held my daughters hand on the way down the mountain. Another special moment was having all the porters leaving base camp in the rain, sleet and snow to climb up part way to greet us and congratulate us in our accomplishment. The last 30 minutes of our decent into base camp was continuously meant with big smiles, offers to take our packs, hand shakes and encouragement. At every camp site out tents were pitched and our duffle bags in the tent. One of my biggest surprises was the quality of the food. Every morning and evening we gorged ourselves on multiple course meals with fresh delicious ingredients. We had a glutton allergy and a vegetarian in our group and the chefs made excellent extra dishes for them that we all joined in and ate because the portions were huge. If our lead guide Nelson overheard something we desired it would just appear, be it a birthday cake at over 16,000 feet, to popcorn awaiting out tired arrival at camp, to individual pizzas and beer awaiting us for the van ride after the end of our climb! I would recommend Trek2Kili to anyone who want a wonderful experience with very qualified local guides, local porter, and a wonderful local owner.

My son and I researched several companies and then found Trek 2 Kili through the KPAP asociation and it was the best decision we ever made. Trek 2 Kili is a local company with English speaking guides and porters that did everythign they could to make this the most memorable experience of our lives. Their motto is "your dream is our goal".

We were originally planning on a 7 day Rongai Route but due to an issue with lost luggage our lead guide Andrew recommended that we take a day hike on day 1 to visit a beautiful waterfall and then proceed with the 6 day Rongai Route instead. I was originally concerned about this decision as I was already worried about landing one day and starting the hike the next with absolutely no time to aclimate since we live basically at sea level. Andrew insisted that he knew what he was doing and that he felt this was the best decision. At the time, I reluctantly agreed, but I'm so glad I did. My son and I had a great time on the day hike which also let us acclimate to a degree but also gave us a chacne to wait for all of our luggage.

The crew of Trek 2 Kili were among the friendliest and most professional people I've ever met. I've never hiked before and this was by far the most physcially and mentally challenging thing I've ever done, but anytime I doubted myself the team was there to cheer me on and remind me that they would help me whenever possible and that we were doing this as a team.

Peter, the Chef, made the most amazing food I've ever had and it was often easy to forget that we were supposed to be roughing it. We had a private tent to eat meals in and on the first morning they set up the table and chairs so we could eat breakfast at sunrise. Every morning we were awoken with glasses of hot chocolate before breakfast, this was definitely not like anyting I had imagined.

Although the Rongai Route is not as scenic as some of the others, it was quiet and Andrew and Steven (our two guides) allowed for short breaks to explain the different ecological zones we were entering and point out different plants and animals. It was a great learning expereince as well.

Then finally on summit night, when we were awoken at 11:00 at night to prepare for the summit, they did everyting they could to calm my nerves and 9 hours later we made it to Uhuru, the highest point of Kilimanjaro. It was such a feeling of accomplishment that I can't even explain, but despite this accomplishment, I know I couldn't have done it alone, it was all thanks to the help of so many porters, guides and others that made us feel like part of their family as they led us to this moment.

I cannot thank the team enough for all they did for us and all of the wonderful memories they gave me and my son!

I summited Mt Kilimanjaro for the first sunrise on New Years Day 2022 with Trek2Kili and a great group of women. All 8 women that set out on summit night made it to Uhuru Peak, in part because of Trek2Kili’s support. Their team was professional, kind and hospitable the entire trip. Through wind, rain, hail, and snow the team stayed positive and made sure our success was the number one priority.

We climbed the 7 day Machame Route, 5.5 days up, 1.5 days down. Each day that we arrived at camp our tents and a warm meal we’re waiting for us. Even as a vegetarian I felt satisfied and full after every meal, I was constantly impressed by what the chefs were able to cook while backpacking on this mountain.

I would absolutely recommend Trek2Kili to anyone that was interested in climbing Mt Kilimanjaro especially our guides Andrew, Hussein, Nelson, and Farida!

We did a four day safari and seven day (Lemosho route) Kili climb with Trek 2 Kili. Could not be happier with our experience. Trek 2 Kili exceeded our expectations, from the knowledge of our guides to the hard work of our porters, these guys made this a truly special experience.

First, we went on a four day safari from the north of the Serengeti to Ngorogoro crater. Our guide, Josephatt was awesome and we saw so many animals, even a lion kill! He knew so much about the flora and fauna of the parks and voluntarily took us on long game drives, often waking early (which was our preference). As we arrived in Kogatende, Josephatt suggested we drive toward the river looking for a crossing before lunch. Per his suggestion, we were able to see a crossing within 1-2 hours of flying in. We know this is sheer luck but wanted to point out that we would have missed it if we'd had lunch first. In addition to his experience and knowledge, Josephatt is just a great guy (and funny). Honestly, couldn't imagine a better experience. As we were returning to Arusha, Josephatt even went out of his way to stop in town so my wife could buy something.

After returning to Moshi, we began our Kilimanjaro climb on a seven day trek along the Lemosho route. Our guides, Stephen and Isiah again were both amazing. Several times during the trek, I incidentally noticed both of them picking up trash previously left on the mountain. Both of them were also very knowledgable about the mountain and its plant and animal species and went out of their way to honor any small accommodation we asked.

Another good thing about Trek 2 Kili are its porters. The porters absolutely made the climb for us. They worked so hard to ensure all our needs were met (and they were). One thing is for sure, you will not be hungry if using Trek 2 Kili. We had so much good food!! That's only the start, from having our tent set-up and waiting at each site, fetching water, cooking, packing up and carrying nearly all of our stuff, even a chemical toilet. Everyone was so friendly and encouraging to us. On summit night, Stephen and Isiah offered to carry our daypacks, making the trek all that easier for us. Made the summit before sunrise and saw it come up from the top! The guides really encouraged us and made sure we were safe. They carry supplemental 02, and they also provided regular health checks nightly to ensure we were okay to continue prior to summit night.

Overall Trek 2 Kili over-delivered on service. Iza was always prompt to return our emails and answer any questions prior to and after booking with him. He also set us up with awesome hotels before, during and after safari. Again, cannot say enough how much we appreciated the hard work, knowledge and friendly demeanor of every single person we worked with. If you're thinking of coming to Tanzania and want a great experience, look no further.

Our party of 4 booked a trip to Materuni Waterfall with Trek2Kili. Conrad was our guide and he was fantastic!

Conrad and a driver picked us up at our hotel promptly at 8am. Along the way he pointed out items of interest and answered any questions we had. The ride to the trailhead went by quickly! Once there we met Christian, our Chagga rep and he, along with Conrad and our driver guided along the trail. We had so much fun! Christian and Conrad had so much information and so many stories to share. Along the trail we smelled fragrant lemon leaves, snacked on sweet bananas and tried to spot the well camouflaged lizards. We met many local people who lived by the waterfall and some kids proudly showed us the small lizard they found.

The hike was easy if you are comfortable walking on uneven ground. Once at the waterfall we all posed for silly pictures together. It was the dry season so I didn't expect the waterfall to be so full! It was beautiful.

After the waterfall we walked back to the beginning of the trailhead and drove over the where the coffee operation is. We watched as they roasted coffee beans and then they let us try our hand stirring the beans. It was fun. The coffee was delicious. They sell small bags if you would like to bring some home but there was no pressure to purchase anything.

To our surprise, on the way home Conrad took us out to lunch at Union Coffee in Moshi and then he took us around the local market. We were enchanted with his stories. As he guided us around the market he showed us the type of pot his grandmother used to make her stews, the popular local ingredients and other items of interest. We were introduced to some of the sellers and it made everything so much more colorful. We appreciated how generous Conrad was with sharing so many personal stories of his life.

We highly recommend this tour and we recommend Conrad - and Christian - as guides.

Trek2Kili was a wonderful experience. My husband and I went with my mom and cousin for the 7 day Machame and added on a 4 day safari.
Azizi (Company owner/operator) was communicative and really helpful setting us up, organizing transport from the airport, hotels between tours and all.
The tour itself was incredible. We had never done a fully managed and packed backpack so seeing the porters needed and organization was a sight. All our porters and guides were friendly and they themselves all had better than average gear. Great to know that our staff and porters are treated well (the tour company is part of KPAP so validated that they treat their folks well).
The company definitely goes above and beyond on requests and setup to ensure the best experience. All members of our group had a great time and thought the tour company we chose was an amazing choice.

Trek 2 Kili served as an excellent guide for the 7 day Machame route up Kilimanjaro. I have some hiking experience, but nothing at this kind of elevation (I live at sea level...), and the experience with Trek 2 Kili made the summit of Kilimanjaro actually happen!

Our guides Andrew, Hussain, Nelson, and Farida helped us through challenging days of hiking where we got to experience a lot of different weather - rain, sleet, snow, and even some thunder and lightening. Their crew of professional porters always had a welcoming camp ready for us at the end of the day with warm food and drink. We even our own bathroom accommodations - it's the little things that you might not think about before that make the difference...

8 of us started the night climb from base camp just after midnight marked the New Year and we watched sunrise between Stella Point and Uhuru Peak, and then continued on to finish at the Peak. It was an amazing way to celebrate the start of 2022.

I would definitely recommend Trek2Kili if you are looking to successfully summit Kilimanjaro!

For me there isn’t a better team to bring you to the summit than Trek2Kili!

I was alone as a women all the last 5 days, and they made me feel secure and totally supported:
best tailored tips how to cope with the challenges, amazing service and food, super friendly and respectful team members, great talks with the guides but also other team members.
They said „you are a trek2kili family member now“ and I only can confirm that I felt this way.

I totally recommend them and wish them to grow and make other climber’s dreams come true!
