My sons and I completed the 8 days Lemosho route in June 2021. We had the most wonderful experience. The Trek2Kili team was top notch from start to finish. The was my second time to hike Kili, but the first time with my children (I previously hiked with Trek2Kili and came back knowing they are the only way to go!). Obviously, climbing with children brings a lot of questions and concerns but we felt well-informed ahead of the trip as well as safe and supported the entire time we were on the mountain. We had the pleasure of hiking with lead guide Nelson and assistant guide Colman who were first class all the way. We brought the majority of our gear but rented sleeping bags, hiking poles and a duffel. Trek2Kili has anything you need to rent and it is all in top-notch shape. The chef in our crew prepared wonderful meals which are so important when hiking Kilimanjaro (you need to eat a lot of calories to keep your energy high). If you have any questions about a Kili trip with Trek2Kili with your children, please feel free to ask for my info to connect. I'm happy to answer any questions. Just ask Iza if you can connect with Michelle M from June 2021!

My mother and I completed the 8 day Lemosho route in July 2021 with Trek2kili. I cannot say enough good things about this company! From the start, Iza was very patient and helpful in answering all my questions about the hike, the gear and preparations before we made the trip. Once we arrived in Kilimanjaro our lead guide, Andrew, was waiting for us at the airport to welcome us and bring us to the hotel. We could tell in the safety briefing he did that evening that he was very knowledgeable about the mountain and the hike we were about to undertake. The next day we met our team of 13 people that we spent the next 8 days with. We even had 2 female porters - Johari and Veronica! We had 2 wonderful guides - Andrew and Elia - that were both friendly and fun to hike with. They had so much experience on Kilimanjaro and answered all of our questions and helped us stay positive the whole time. They also did health checks on us every night and talked us through the plan for the next day so we could be prepared. Our camp setup was awesome. We had our own sleeping tent and there was also a dining table set up in a separate tent for all our meals. We also had a portable toilet tent to use the bathroom and “shower” every day! The chef, Elia, and waiter, Hussein, were amazing. We ate like queens the whole week. Eggs, toast and sausage for breakfast and hot soup, chicken, rice, etc for lunch or dinner. Summit day was difficult starting out the hike around midnight. Andrew, Elia and our summit porter Amos are the only reason we made it to the top. They were very helpful and coached us all the way up. After we summited and started coming down, 3 folks from our camp met us along the way to bring us juice and snacks and congratulate us on reaching summit. They were so sweet! I would recommend this company to anyone looking to climb Kilimanjaro. They put your safety first, keep it fun and everyone is so nice!

Me and a friend did the 7 day Machame Route in mid-Feb 2021. It was a private tour, as we were the only clients, along with the 12 people in the crew (porters, chef, waiter, guide, 2nd guide and the "pilot" carrying the portable toilet). It was the most amazing experience! And we are very grateful for the crew for taking us up on the mountain. We chose a mid-range company, to ensure that we did not get bland/basic food and cheap mattresses. By choosing a mid-range option, we knew we would get a good experience. After some research, and talking to different companies, we chose Trek2Kili, as they are a part of the KPAP (Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project), meaning that they will ensure a decent pay to the porters. Many low-budget companies will cut the wages for the porters to give you a cheaper price! The communication with the office was very good, and Azizi answered all of my many (and sometimes weird) questions. This made us feel very much sure that we would have a good experience with the company. The hotel we stayed at before/after the climb was close to the office, and was really nice. A great pool (which we relaxed by the day after the climb), the food was tasty, and the rooftop was a nice place to take in the view over Moshi and listen to some music. Our guides (Andrew and Elias) were a good mix of serious and funny, and we had a lot of good talks on the trails! The crew was really nice - but due to Covid-19 protocol, we didn't mingle as much as you would usually do on the trips. We has a good dialogue with the guides, and would discuss how to proceed. The food was so tasty and plentiful! Thanx to the chef and David, our friend and waiter! We made it all the way to the top, and the view was amazing! Thank you again for making it possible :) We would definitely recommend climbing Kilimanjaro with Trek2Kili - and we have already recommended them to our friends :D

It truly was the fabulous team from Trek2Kili that made my family’s trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro successful, positive, and a magical experience. Iza set us up with an incredible group of men & women who guided us up the mountain. Standouts on our hike that really made the difference for me include Andrew, our main guide. Andrew, a man of integrity, extraordinary mountain climbing skills, and compassionate support, is one of the main reasons I was able to summit. Husain was another positive standout from my hiking experience. He went way over and above to assure my success and safety as I descended the mountain. He met me where I was mentally, physically, and emotionally, allowing me to move down the snowy mountain at my own pace. I’ll be 59 years old in a couple weeks and on March 28, 2021, I successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. My success can be greatly attributed to the good people of Trek2Kili. You guys are the best and I’ll never forget all you did for me. Thank you so much.

I can’t say enough about our recent trip to Kilimanjaro and our experience with Trek2Kili! From the guides meeting us at the airport to the owner spending the day with us with absolutely no obligation, helping us get COVID tested a week after our climb. Every porter was so friendly and jovial as they sped past us hauling our camp ahead of us each day. Our four guides were all so positive and supportive of us all. My daughter was a bit nervous the day before the summit attempt, one of our guides Stephan sat with us and explained how we would feel physically and to be nervous was totally normal and that the guides were there to help in and way. She felt so much better mentally and ended up having a much better summit experience because of his kind knowledgeable words. It really felt like we were all in it together “one team, one dream!” The summit was great however, one of my favorite memories was when one of the two porters that summited with us held my daughters hand on the way down the mountain. Another special moment was having all the porters leaving base camp in the rain, sleet and snow to climb up part way to greet us and congratulate us in our accomplishment. The last 30 minutes of our decent into base camp was continuously meant with big smiles, offers to take our packs, hand shakes and encouragement. At every camp site out tents were pitched and our duffle bags in the tent. One of my biggest surprises was the quality of the food. Every morning and evening we gorged ourselves on multiple course meals with fresh delicious ingredients. We had a glutton allergy and a vegetarian in our group and the chefs made excellent extra dishes for them that we all joined in and ate because the portions were huge. If our lead guide Nelson overheard something we desired it would just appear, be it a birthday cake at over 16,000 feet, to popcorn awaiting out tired arrival at camp, to individual pizzas and beer awaiting us for the van ride after the end of our climb! I would recommend Trek2Kili to anyone who want a wonderful experience with very qualified local guides, local porter, and a wonderful local owner.
