This is a very protected beach where the waves are small. Highly recommended if you have small kids. Here you can spend a relaxed day on the beach & in the water. There is a pub & restaurant on either side of the beach for when you are thirsty or hungry.

If looking for a nice beach day with child friendly waves then choose Santos. A great setting close to amenities and the cbd. Once done swimming or relaxing on the beach one can slip away for some ice cream or even better have a great lunch at the Santos Express train restaurant about 20m away.

Santos beach is an amazing beach. It is clean and not too crouded, very good for families. There are straw sheds that provide shade, which is also very nice. The waves aren't too rough. Really enjoyed our experience there.

Total peace, calm & serenity, white sandy beaches, barely no waves just a hint of surf.
Lot's of restaurants & bars around, great friendly environment with beautiful people all round.
Safe and secure with locker rooms, showers and snacks on the beach.
A tropical Island feel, i'll be back.

What a great beach to spend the day at. Santos beach was great today, with little or no wind. The relatively calm waves is great for the little one. We visited the nearby ice cream vendor and enjoyed two large and one small sugar cones for less than R50.00. The beach has two toilet facilities and occassional life savers patrolling. Along the grassy areas are the ideal picnic spots including beach lapas. There is ample parking and also overnight accomodation from the nearby guest houses.
In the near distance you can view the Dias museum and the harbour.

Santos is one of the two beaches closest to town centre. There is plenty to do on the beach and there are eating places nearby. The current is less harsh at santos but still one must take care and observe all weather warnings.

Certainly one of the best portion of beaches in Mosselbaai. Super clean, calm turquoise waters, shark nets, a real family beach. A big bonus is the thatch umbrellas to lounge under. Nice and quiet and accessible out of season, but a nightmare in peak season.

What a smashing beach 🏖 this is. Very quiet on a Monday. We had a tender trip from Azamara cruise ship. Lucky 🍀 us, as we got to stay overnight too

Quite a hot spot with beach lovers.. safe beach with amenities. I liked the several open huts to rest under the shade.

Are there beach chairs and umbrellas for daily rental @ Santos Beach?
Written 27 November 2024
Hi! We are a group of 5 and our flight will reach Cape Town on 28th Sept at 11:45 in the night. What is the safest and cheapest way to get to Santos Beach by morning? Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe that is better if you rent a car and drive. It is a long way drive from Cape Town.
You can rent a car for 10 usd a day.
