Ruined piece of history
Mar 2021 • Couples
A short and easy trail with a beautiful view of the coast, but that’s where it stops. The path is full of rubbish and the cave at the start of the path isn’t looked after at all.

There is clearly people sleeping there as evidence of fires and markings on the wall is ruining an important peace of history. It’s sad to see this happening.

Really amazing place to visit but the safety is becoming a problem for me and I would recommend going with a group

$1 entrance! Clean, well maintained, excellent views from balcony and top of lighthouse. Good view of zip line as well.

Good walk
Dec 2019
Good walk on a clear day up to the lighthouse. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Walk up to the cave and read about the history of the first cave dwellers and then walk up to the lighthouse. Stunning views of the city and the ocean. Worth the effort.

Amazing Animals at the parking!
Feb 2020
We didn't make it up to the lighthouse due to the bad weather but we've been amazed by the funny creatures that hang in the rocks at the parking lot!

One of the few remaining manned lighthouses along our coast!
Jan 2020
Navigation around these often treacherous waters has been facilitated by the building of the lighthouse in 1864. Well sited on the Point and commanding excellent views
both east and west, this lighthouse is open to the public, with visiting hours normally between 10 am and 3 pm. It might be wise to phone in advance, especially if you want to see the view from the top of the tower. Its quite a steep climb to the lighthouse and there is no way you can gain entry if the gate's locked. Effective perimeter security is in place. Well worth a visit though!

Windy
Dec 2019
The trail is risky and windy. Not recommended for kids. But you can still drive up to enjoy spectacular views.

Good views
Dec 2019
There's a free car park right next to the steps to the lighthouse, so it's easy to find and to access. The steps up are uneven so the less ably bodied might struggle. I wouldn't bother paying to climb up the lighthouse - you can get the same (dramatic) views from the path up to it.

Beautiful scenery
May 2019
Mosselbay turned out to be more than I expected. Lovely ocean side accommodation, hiking trails and scenic drives. Or if you just want to sit on the beach and relax - you can do that too. I am not a camper but looking at the camping sites, I was impressed. Clean and spacious with decent ablution blocks.
It is a nice hike to get up to the lighthouse but the view from the top is well worth the effort.
