Went late afternoon and enjoyed the different view points. Interesting geological site! Open wide landscape is very impressive. Easy hiking route to admire the valley from different view point. Drove around this national Park which has several sections. The ranger at the gate was very helpful and gave good advice on where to go and when.

For some reason we always thought it was difficult or far to get to this natural wonder. So glad we finally went, it is beautiful!!! Only 10km outside of Graaff Reinet and the roads are very accessible, we even saw a red Ferrari make it...More

Beautiful place could do with some benches around for lunch but very well sign posted. It a fairly good bridal way but nice to take it all in worth a visit just for the waterfall alone.

Really wonderful part of South Africa and only a few hours off the beaten path of the classic Garden Route. The roads up are sealed and the area is safe enough to explore as a self-drive. Tours are available but quite expensive for the region....More

We had a great tour of the valley of Desolation with Robert. Very knowledgeable. Drinks at sunset on top was nice touch.

A truly beautiful place to visit - very interesting history. Plus lots of little animals around - keep an eye out for some very cute lizards.

Very fortunate to visit here just as the sun was rising. There is an option to do a lovey hike or short walk. Wonderful views and a nature reserve about 2km up the road included in the entry price.

Late afternoon 4-6pm. The animals come out. It's cooler, and the atmosphere changes. Take some wine and cheese and font rush.
