It was very windy when we visited but there is a couple of great photo opportunities with the lighthouse and two abandoned houses close by.

In the 3 days that we were in Luderitz, we visited this peninsula twice because we both loved the landscape - Both times we drove down to Grosse Bucht, Diaz point, Halifax Bay and Essy Bay. The rock formation and colours of the stone at...More

We set off to go round the peninsula - including Griffith Bay, Diaz Point, Guano Bay & Grosse Bucht - for the afternoon (having visited Kolmanskop in the morning). There was some wist about that helped create "atmosphere". We had great sightings of Flamingoes and...More

The actual cross is a replica of the original and looks great. But unless he was your great great great grandfather I don’t see the attraction. The actual surrounding coast is pretty, but in a typically desolate manner. Still a rather pleasant time was had...More

About 15 minutes outside of Lüderitz and stunning. Very windy at times but the view is worth it. Great opportunities for photos.

Give yourself time to explore the entire area not just Dias Point. The southern most point is worth exploring, rocky shoreline with beautiful angles for photography and no one else around. Walk the beaches and you might be amazed at what you find in the...More

We drove around the peninsula after a visit at Kolmanskop, and it was worth it! The place felt abandoned, isolated and away from everything- as there wasn't many people around when we visited. The café and the campsite seem to have been abandoned as well....More

The whole peninsula is well worth a day excursion. Bring your picnic and drinks with you so you have the whole day to explore. There's nothing to eat or drink there. Saw flamingos, seals, penguins, dolphins, beautiful isolated places, salt pans,... Diaz point has the...More

Roads are well maintained and good indications of all the little view points along the road. Urged you to go further.

Well worth the drive. Very interesting to see the pedestrian bridge (or what is left of it) and the information on it. We hope that it will be restored some day.
