The park is alive with animals and the guides are great at spotting things so it is well worth having a guide and we took the 4 hour trip. the process for getting booked in is long winded and this is because they are using...More

Plan for at least 3 hours here and hire a guide with an animal spotter. Trails in some places are steep. Try to go early when the animals are more active, and wear covered footwear. It is a good place to see birds too. Try...More

My wife and I spent four days in this wonderful park and surrounding areas. Stacks of stuff to see, some hard to find but well worth the effort. RABEARISOA Avotra was my guide, <rabearisoa89avotra@gmail.com> I can highly recommend him. I am not sure if we...More

We did several day walks and noctural night walks through the rainforest. It was pleasantly cool in the forest and we were not troubled by mosquitoes, leeches, or any other nasty insects. We got good photographs of birds and lemurs. It is popular, and though...More

Loved the park here, we were fortunate enough to see several species of lemur including a family of sifaka's we followed through the forest.

We had Patrice, who was excellent. He often went off trail in search of lemurs, then brought us to where he found them. Most of the other guides just stuck to the trails. If you are willing to do some off trail hiking, that will...More

We had a great time seeing Indri and Sifaka in the park. Park fee is 45,000pp ( we were there in October 2018) and guide fee depends on how long you stay in the park. We took 4 hours (60,000) and able to visit Two...More

If you want to see the Indri and do not have a lot of time, then this park is for you. It's as convenient as you will get in Madagascar. Plus, there are a variety of lemurs to see.

Early morning is best for seeing lemurs in action. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for some steep sections if you want to be able to follow the lemurs. Guides are expensive unless you can share with other travellers - if travelling solo you...More

While it is a very nice national park the paths are quite difficult if you have any kind of mobility issues. It is crawling with tourists all craning for a glimpse of the ever illusive lemurs. Lemur Island was a much better experience.

I would not recommend this. You need to be there in the morning to see the lemurs

We visited in early to late November. Our reason for doing so was to see lemurs with young. At different times of year you will see different aspects of the Island. Choose a time that showcases the things you are... More
