Interesting offbeat tourist attraction
Dec 2019 • Family
The bay of Hanga Te’e which is about 10 kilometers away from Hanga Roa is framed by cliffs where the waves of the ocean break furiously modeling the landscape. Located close to Vaihu, there is a restored village, which gives a better grasp of how life was on Easter Island during ancient times. Offbeat travelers will certainly find this place interesting.

Interesting, but could use some signs to tell you what you are seeing
Aug 2019
The kids traveling with us enjoyed going in the structures they have on display. The adults did too, but we would have liked some explanation as to what the structures were. Nice level walking.

Rebuilt houses
Dec 2018 • Friends
This site shows you how the native people lived and what their huts looked like. It also has a stone chicken coop and gardens encased with stone. This protected the plants from the winds and helped to retain the moisture for the plants.

Amazing
Sep 2018 • Couples
This place is beautiful and the housing is well thought. Blocking the wind is like an upside down boat. I would suggest a bit of information regarding the place and Moai.

Fallen Moai
Mar 2018 • Couples
This is an interesting site with several fallen Moai. It is interesting to see what they look like before they are restored. There was some reconstructed grass huts and a single small standing Moai.

8 Fallen Moai
Apr 2016 • Family
there are 8 fallen Moai fallen moai on the ground here. because they have not been re-erected on the sacred mounds yet you can get up close and personal with them compared to the other moai. The moai overlook amazing cliff peaks with the azure ocean crashing against the rocks below.

I rented a car for appox. 34,000 CLP per day from the owner of our cabin and drove around myself. As you leave the airpot terminal turn right on to Hotu Matua road. Keep driving straight following the runway instead of veering left onto Camino Vaitea Anakena road. At the end of the runway turn left on to the unnamed coastal road on the eastern side of the island.
